I'd say they're fine; if you're unsure though, send them back and order via the likes of C3BMW or other tried & trusted resellers Who did you buy them through? Seems they sell everything (from kiln dried logs to car parts)... Personally I stick with the likes of C3BMW, BMWmotormec, johnnyboy1, RTGroup etc all on eBay; all tried & tested car parts resellers specialising in BMW etc - worth finding them on eBay and putting them in your 'saved sellers' list 1 PL523i reacted to this
PL523i 26 Report post Posted October 6, 2020 I have done with a couple of those but they didn't list them at time I was looking, I think you recommended them before. I've just sent details to lemforder actually to check. Seems odd that different colours in such a short span of series numbers.. Unless coloured for left/right? Figured someone in here has bought them before. I'm not opening them until lemforder can confirm

Figured someone in here has bought them before. I'm not opening them until lemforder can confirm Left and right side are two different parts, which won't fit vice versa. So part numbers must be different. About one being black, maybe old stock vs new stock. Jus see what lemforder will reply. But it looks legit to me. 1 d_a_n1979 reacted to this
PL523i 26 Report post Posted October 6, 2020 Yes, correct. On part numbers I ordered 2 seperately after referencing lemforder web site. I'll let you know what the response is. Cheers all

Would like to hear more details about anything removed etc, because with those bits I removed only way I could get it in was to start jumping on top. I basically kept removing trim, earth points, sound proofing... etc until it slid in. There was a thread about it on here a few years ago, I just copied that. There is none of the usual battery support in there any more, only the one over the top , but that thing too big to go anywhere. Getting it out again will be fun... 1 d_a_n1979 reacted to this
d_a_n1979 2,844 Report post Posted October 7, 2020 Discovered a failed drop link and front lower arm Both ordered via warranty It however passed its MOT with flying colours last week... TBF there's only just a bit of play in both, but enough to cause bit of a wobble on braking and at 50mph!

PL523i 26 Report post Posted October 8, 2020 The new fan shroud arrived today. I bought a Gepco item via ebay for £51 delivered. Took 4 days from Poland. Quality looks perfectly acceptable but I haven't fitted it yet. Just waiting for the tensioners to arrive before putting it all back together. Then I can drive it onto hard standing and fit the droplink, rod ends and fuel filter.

I had to clear out underneath as was full of leaves and other detritus. Was grubby as hell.

Plan was to use it over the summer, but that all went out of the window. The M1 will be the same, I just took both for a short run in the spring to get things properly warmed up and then nothing since. The E34 M5 I took on a longish trip and a day out up the dales, that has done 2,500km this year. 1 d_a_n1979 reacted to this

CTEK make very good trickle chargers. Looks like the MXS 5.0 fitted to me Re the rear power socket, can come in handy for all sorts. For me, it'd be handy for when we go away camping & plug the cool box into for the journey there etc
