Groundhogs mate when the come out of hibernation and have a 30 day gestation period.  Pups are born bald, blind and helpless.  At about 6 weeks they are weaned and emerge from the burrow to feed. Today is the first time we have seen any pups and they were eating a truck load of our weeks, brilliant.
