12 v in door wire.

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if anyone can help me I have a BMW 118I 2016 5dr. I am currently trying to wire some optical led's into door to give abit of ambient lighting the lights require a 12v current. i have been successful in wiring it into my window switch on the drivers side door as that is a 12v current yet the other doors are only 5v I believe. i am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where i can wire this into as at this point I've ran out of options.

The window regulator would be 12v?

Maybe easier and safer just to tuck a new fused wire through the existing loom.

As in run a wire directly to each light? I don't think I can get it into the door as I think the wires that pass though the door into the main bit of the car go to a connection box. So I believe i can't run it in the sleeve. Also I believe the window regulator is 9v as well.
