E60 530d DPF removal question

Recommended Posts

I've been searching high and low about DPF issues and removal.  Just want to know, if you remove the DPF and gut the insides or replace with a DPF delete pipe, will it still need coding?

If its case of just swapping parts over or gutting the inside of existing DPF then have no issues in doing this myself, however if coding is needed, will need to find someone which is going to delay things and be a bit of a nightmare.

Dpf removal requires the regen to be turned off via coding.

Mapping is good too as you'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone and egr can stay on or off, your choice.

If you remove it then it's an instant fail. If it appears present then that's OK as long as you pass the smoke test.

Taking it off and pressure washing it out with detergent will bring it back. Although initially the water will be a bit of blockage until that has dried out.
