Ollie Campbell 4 Report post Posted December 22, 2020 (edited) Hi guys, I’ve got a BMCables diagnostic cable that I've had for a while and haven’t had any problems with it in the past. I’ve just needed to use it on a new car (2009 E61) and can’t seem to get it working, I’m getting an IFH-0009 error running INPA. Using: Windows 10 64-bit Windows XP 32-bit (Virtual) Windows XP 64-bit (Virtual) Have tried: AV & firewall off for installation and running the software. Running Windows without driver signature verification enabled. The red light is on the cable INPA is showing a black dot for battery and ignition The cars ignition is definitely on Used the DCAN software to make sure the cable is set to K-line mode OBDSetup.exe comes back OK Switch on silver cable to left hand side. FTDI drivers were installed The cable shows up as a ‘BMcables diagnostic cable’ using driver 16/08/2017 v2.12.28.0 in Device Manager. Using the BimmerWorld (I think) version of INPA Can anyone provide any pointers? Edited Wednesday at 10:50 AM by Ollie Campbell
Toughguyhuh 14 Report post Posted Tuesday at 03:16 PM I found that using the software that BMCables supplies, I sometimes have to manually start the IFH service manually. It should be in your system drive under EDIABAS1/Bin/IFHSRV32.exe and run it as Admin. You won't get any support from BMCables (now BCables). 1 Ollie Campbell reacted to this

So just circling back to this....I have tried this on various virtual Windows XP machines and the underlying Windows 10 laptop. I'm just about to make a fresh virtual windows 10 machine so that I can be sure that nothing else on my computer is interfering.... On those ones I've tried, sadly this didn't help. Any other ideas before I admit defeat and head to a garage?
Toughguyhuh 14 Report post Posted Friday at 08:00 PM You tried using the BMCables version of INPA? The one that came with the cable? They tie the 1-click software they supply to their cable, perhaps something to do with that. You may need to start INPA from their loader.
