Seems a good deal have added to my watch list.

Always a bit cautious about ebay as alot of fake stuff on there ...

Has 99.9 positive feedback

But alot of negative reviews too.

For that price you might as well get a service done at the dealer

The eBay price I shared is for 12 litres. As in two DIY oil changes.

Your dealer price is for one oil change.

Buy in bulk and you save.  ;)

Yes I have the same offer for dealership oil change, just fancied doing it myself. Thanks for the link, I may go that route, its just storing that drum and shelf life as I work from home, I don't really do that many miles. But... I can also use that for my wife's F20 116d!

WRT shelf life, if it’s not been opened it should be good for several years providing its stored sensibly.

I got some advice from Castrols tech team.

My local dealer offers similar via ebay,

but told me they would do a similar deal on oil over the counter.

I just bought 5 litres oil and filter from them for £70 including postage for my 10k change. I find them really helpful and reasonably priced. The chap I deal with was busy and thought could try the local dealership who quoted £122 for over the counter sale.

Whilst we are on the subject people who do 10k changes are you changing the filter aswell or just oil?

I personally change the oil filter at the same time as the oil at 10k.

I recently got a good deal 17% off from carpartsforless 5 ltrs Shell Helix ECT C3 5w 30 incl Mann oil filter and free delivery  £ 46.06

I've been changing my filter and oil at the same time, round about 10000 miles. For the cost of a new filter it just seems silly to put clean oil through a dirty filter. When ordering parts from Autodoc I sometimes add an oil filter or two to my order to bump the price up above the threshold for free postage. IIRC their Mahle filters are around £12 and the postage cost for orders under £150 is £8.95. My last filter effectively cost about £4 B)
