Window trim refurb

Recommended Posts

Hi, has anyone got any tips on removing the rust on the gloss black window trims I have? Can you remove the trim pieces, or is it less hassle to try and do it with them in situ? Any recommendations on type of paint to use? Any info appreciated!

Just did mine, similar problem, done in place. A good sand down to remove the worst of it, it will be pitted so dab on a bit of Phosphoric acid to neutralise the remaining rust,  let that soak in and dry, then a couple of coats of high build grey primer and re-paint with any good pro quality spray can.

Got my paint from Colourtone Ltd, not cheap but great quality. For that small area, any good gloss black spray will do really. Hope this helps.

Thanks, would that be 2 Pack or Cellulose? 2 Pack I guess?

For larger panels 2 pack clear over base but for that small repair any good one pack standard black gloss spray will do.
