Help Identifying Mystery Vacuum Component Please N47 Engine

Recommended Posts

I went to a car being broken on eBay a few weeks back and took pictures of the layout of the vacuum hose.

While replacing the vacuum hoses on my 2.0D N47, I noticed that the car I had seen on eBay had an extra part (see picture) which my engine does not have.

Can anyone advise what it is please?

Many thanks,

Jonathan

looks to be the actuator arm on the EGR valve.

Thank you! That makes total sense now.

I’m guessing who ever had the car before me disabled the EGR which is why the electric plug for the actuator is blocked off and there is no vacuum hose to it.

Really odd how they left the EGR valve itself in place though. I guess it was to fool the ECU into thinking it was there..

This  doesn’t look like the usual method to blank off an EGR - any thoughts?

if you have no error codes, it must mean it has been coded out. This might relate to your low/no boost thread if you have put it back in but the car can't see it . . . .
