Hazards automatically on after heavy breaking?

Recommended Posts

I did an emergency stop today when two deer came out in front of my car.

I think the car put the hazard lights on. Does it do that? Maybe it was me on dangerous car situation autopilot.

Yes, hit the brakes hard enough and they'll come on to warn the guy behind.

Did you have to press the button on the dash to turn them back off?

Similar in accidents.  If the car gets a hard enough bump it will put the hazards on and the interior lights.

Yes need to manually turn off hazards,

You can also enable Brake Force Display via coding, i have mine that can do this (again only does on moderate / heavy braking which thankfully isnt too often)

It depends on what footwell module (FRM) your E90 had. The ones for Xenon-equipped cars had a lot more features than halogen-equipped cars. Brake force Display was not a codeable feature of an E90 LCI with halogens for example.
