Ordnator 274 Report post Posted December 3 (edited) Wow, That looks like it came straight from the show room in 1981 Is that a special "motor Show" prepared model or does it just have most of the original optional extra boxes ticked from new. Where did you find this fine car? Thank you for sharing and brightening up a dull winters day. Looking forward to more pictures. 528i-FAN 286 Report post Posted December 3 Thanks for the kind words Mick, it certainly is one of the nicest spec'd E28's I've ever seen. What I love most is that it's completely original, still retains all the factory fit extras. 1 Ordnator reacted to this

LSD and the recaro leather sports seats and it would of been perfect.
Steve van hool 197 Report post Posted Thursday at 11:07 AM Shouldn't be too difficult to retro fit a LSD, I would have thought.
Ordnator 274 Report post Posted Thursday at 11:15 AM Finding a set of recaro seats may be more difficult but not impossible. They come up for sale in Europe every now and again. Then have them recovered to match your interior. Nothing wrong with making it your own from the parts bin, as if you were in the showroom 36 years ago It is your car to do with as you please, and in a way that pleases you. Outstanding survivor car. Style5 28 Report post Posted Thursday at 02:19 PM That really is a stunning car. Beautiful and original and deserves to remain how Bavaria intended. With one of mine I’ve just fitted a few factory options that could of been ordered at the time of build also. More pics please !
528i-FAN 286 Report post Posted Thursday at 02:32 PM Agree it would be nice to fit sports seats etc but I want to keep this totally original, as you say, it's a survivor car. Even this : 3 Taffy 1, gaza01 and Ordnator reacted to this
528i-FAN 286 Report post Posted Thursday at 09:30 PM Recaro seats £374 LSD £284 But as always, where do you stop with options.
Steve van hool 197 Report post Posted Thursday at 09:41 PM E28 Recaro or bmw sports seats not actually that comfy for a long journey, the bolsters are very pronounced on the seat base and end up squeezing your thighs against your knackers, unless you are petite. You stop when you have your perfect car, how you like it and how you would have specced it if you had won the pools / lottery in 1983 Just an idea... Style5 28 Report post Posted Thursday at 10:42 PM Something period and factory that you can bolt in and out just as easy I see as only an opportunity. The sports seats will always sell on after you’ve plonked the originals back in. I have the leather sport seats in my 528i, they look great but all they do is bloody squeak to be honest and it drives me mad. But each to their own and as long you can always go back to original there’s no harm done. Love the Pioneer head unit, do you have the TS-466 speakers too ? Sir Anthony Regents-Park 788 Report post Posted Friday at 12:34 PM (edited) It's an '83 car. A lot of SE manuals had an LSD as standard early on but this looks like a standard car with SE options. Looks lovely though. Edited Friday at 12:37 PM by Sir Anthony Regents-Park
