Get xHP software update. Gear indication is just a bonus you'll get too.

I've been wanting to get xHP but I want the full package one but can't yet afford it. So don't want to pay for the licence then have to get everything else seperate.

I thought they pull away in 2nd unless selected 1 in sport.
It depends with my LCI

I don't know whether mine does or doesn't. Mine is a 30d LCI
When my box is warm it won't go into 1st straight away but sit in traffic for a few seconds and it tends to go into 1st. Not sure if the 535d is mapped different due to the theoretical to speed compared to say a 520d though.

Apple and oranges as my engine is the baby, but I don't think I've ever noticed it in 2nd for pull away. Popped out to the shops earlier and watched it - always 1st gear but it wouldn't have had a chance to warm up if that makes any difference.

How do I know? A recent screenshot (not today)

I think I'm going to have to add a note if I post that screenshot again lol. I always get asked.

Quote below from another thread answering that exact same question:

It's Torque. I have a thread about it linked in my signature. Unfortunately just about all the readings in that picture are only confirmed working on N47 engines with the same DDE version as mine (ver 7.0 I think). Coolant, RPM, speed, cat temps, and other basic sensors should work though. Torque can be themed and customised quite a bit. As us poor E60 owners have no coolant gauge I've customised mine to resemble my old E39 one. The temp sits in the middle when at correct operating temp just like I'm used to :)
