E39 rusty jacking point

Recommended Posts

Going to get my rusty rear driver side jacking point sorted next week. What are the best rust prevention products should I use before, during and after welding.

The best prevention is to remove as much of the rust effected area, and once welded fill the inner sill with a rust proofing product.

I use this stuff and it’s very good and can be easily applied

Krown T40 rust protection, anti rust, corrosion treatment https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01DI9W0R0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kbPRDb95SC56P

Is there a hole in the inner wing which goes into the sill? I was thinking of using Bilt Hamber Electrox once the cavity has been cleaned and before welding on the bottom closing panel. Then some Dynax S50 with the lance fitted and work around the whole inner sill cavity. Then some epoxy primer on the outside with some stone chip over the top.

Does that sound a reasonable approach, or should I leave out the Electrox so then the S50 can penetrate any existing rust to prevent any further corrosion.
