Carly not connecting

Recommended Posts

Not sure if anyone knows much about Carly

I use the Android app and the genuine Carly Bluetooth dongle

It'll connect to the engine ECU and read diagnostics; but it can't see any other ECUs to do any coding

Anyone any ideas re this

I can only think of simplistic stuff.

1. Force stop the app, restart the phone and app and try again.

2. Delete and reinstall the app - this was a bit clunky when I did it as obviously you don't want to have to pay again.

3. Put in a support ticket. Possibly worth doing this before (2) as I seem to remember when I had a problem they sent me a link to ensure I didn't have to pay.

I guess it was behaving normally up to this point? There was an update yesterday but I think only for F-series or later. The version I have is v29.29.

Cheers... Done all that, not had chance to have another go though due to the foul weather.

Will have another go tomorrow & update from there

Just to update; this didn't work. Still won't connect/see other ECUs

I've dropped Carly an email; but it seems they're known for being crap at replying!:angry:

My G31 had a software update at the dealer this week and Carly now reports only three readable ecus - guessing Carly may not have updated their config to support the updated modules.

Thankfully esys pzsd coding data is quicker to update and is DIY.

Make sure you've got the correct year/model chosen. I'm sure you have but just checking.

Check you've updated the dongle firmware too... the was recently updated.

Once done, if you still have problems I've found the guys at Carly actually very helpful.
