i am installing a dash cam to my e39

i have fitted the camera and the wire to the area of the fusebox.

i am using a piggy back type connector but i am unsure which fuse to use and also where to connect the earth wire

any help would be much appreciated

Use Slot 7 for Live, and slot 43 for Accessory. 

 

With the Fuse taps, the slot closest to you, is for the 5A (or whatever the manual tells you for the dash cam) and the slot closest to the fuse panel must match the rated Amp-age for the slot itself. 

 

I'll take a photo of mine when it stops raining if the above doesn't make sense.

Did you end up finding a grounding location for your Dash cam, I'm going to be installing mine soon

there's a chassis bolt to the right, behind the glovebox/front fure panel that you can use. 

 

Otherwise any unpainted body panel / chassis structure.
