duncan-uk 2,901 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 Long story short to achieve some building works we will need to move out of home for a couple of months. I'll still be able to work from home and so can't transfer BB to rented property. Is there a reasonable mobile BB hub type thing? I.e. With a SIM card one can give wifi to a number of devices? suggestions welcome.
duncan-uk 2,901 Report post Posted May 10, 2018 The Vodafone looks the sort of thing but i wouldn't want 12months I might see whats coming up in terms of wifi networks and see if we can blag a go on the neighbours! Or can one extend range of ones own wifi? rented property will be about 50m form our own!
amauvis 69 Report post Posted May 10, 2018 50 metres is quite a range to boost. Can you run an extension cable between the two properties, or would it cross a road or neighbour's property? Reason being, if you can, then a pair of Powerlines ethernet adapters might work, coupled with another wifi router in the rental place. I'm not sure how much it would degrade over that distance though.
duncan-uk 2,901 Report post Posted May 10, 2018 If i can run a powerlead can i not run an ethernet cable? it would be over three gardens but we know all the neighbours so might be possible.

dan101smith 1,081 Report post Posted May 10, 2018 Get a Three Mifi device on a short term contract instead. If you get 4G in your area then it'll probably be faster than your wired broadband anyway.
