Looking for a set of 18" wheels for e60/61

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Can I get a set of 18" alloys under £400 for e60/61?

I am fed up changing winter to summers tires having only one set of alloys, every change cost me £40-50!

There is set of MV2 on gumtree for £340 but they not genuine I think or I am a dreamer if I want to get a good quality alloys for £400?

Cheers all

I just sold 4x MV2's for £230 with 4 legal tyres, as an example.

That's what I am worried about, either easier to crack or impossible to balance!

But it was also down to poor repairs by someone who should have been able to do better.

So if I get them brand new I might be lucky enough?

I have a set but 1 of the wheels definitely has 2 cracks and they need a refurb .. I've got 6 tyres with at least 2mm on them .. I bought a set on ebay for around £300 to replace my originals

Possibly.

I had no issues with the fronts and that's even with a repair done before I owned it but the backs gave me all the problems.

They just seemed to crack for no reason and the trough a mate of mine alloy welding specialists (as in the metal not wheel specialists) I got to fix them just didn't do a strong enough weld so they went again and more than once.

Hi Vinchenzo, thanks for offer, I wouldn't mind to do a refurb but the word crack in terrifying me, I will probably try to see what these wheels are (from the link above) and might dodge a bullet and buy them plus they are local to me.

I am just thinking if I should go for these. I contacted seller and he says it's not genuine BMW though. Any advice?

Nope, not buying from this fella, never had a such bad experience with the seller. The guy is not interested to sell these at all! F...k that! Grrr!

Take your time mate , they allways come up on ebay and Gumtree, if I was you I would wait for a genuine set .

I did some search online, did some calcs and buying just allows and then tires might not be that cheap as I was hoping it would be unless you find a very good deal on alloys.

For example if I buy set of alloys for £340 (as above) + set of tires £340(Kumho KU39) + fit tires on wheels/balance £40/50 and the total price would be about £700!

Is it not easier (and not much more expensive) to go on mytires.com or tyreleader.com and order full set of wheels and tires that will come to your home/work fully assembled?

It's just thoughts out loud gents as for the last few days was thinking a lot about it, not easy just go and spend £700-850 in one go! :(
