BMW E60 535D BLACK SMOKE - SOLVED!

I've has the exact same issue and replaced the pipe myself tonight, power restored :)

i spoke to my local BMW specialist that advised the same on the full unit price, much cheaper to do the hose yourself.

total cost was £28 (delivered) it is usually the top hose (above 9) that goes which is much easier to replace (done prior to replacing the top one) 

 

did your black smoke clear instantly or did it need a proper clear out?
