What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?

Recommended Posts

Ordered a couple of new rear tyres from that well known tyre vendor, Amazon.

Quite a good bit cheaper than the specific tyre retailers.  Pays to shop around and yes I'm contributing to killing the High Street, but my local tyre fitter will get my business to fit and I know it will be done properly.

I have to say ATS did about the best deal on 17" michelin PS4 recently, two fitted cheaper by some margin than getting on line and then paying to fit.

No again about it mate. I picked the only tyre in that size that has rating "A" for wet braking which I deem as being in the #1 spot for what a tyre needs to be good at.

But mainly cos they match the fronts.  My automotive OCD doesn't like different front/rear tyres. ;)

Don’t think I have OCD, but I much prefer same on all the corners.

Had a local garage test my diagnostics, £20 and half hour later I get "LIN_BUS communications failure

Any ideas?

What was the original fault?

No original fault, I've had the car 3 weeks and it doesn't hold on a hill (auto box) so I thought I'd get the gearbox diagnostics checked, all clear except this one fault showing.  Communications bus fault but which one and when?

Does it hold at all with the autohold function enabled?

Have you or anyone gone into the centre console?

It's possible the handbrake or components of it run on the linbus

A few jobs today.

Replaced the cracked handbrake switch

Moved my Ctek panel indicator battery connection to free up the other point on the battery mounted fuse box for my split charge relay for my towbar and wired it in.

And for you snow foam lovers out there, a picture just for you. ;)

Followed by a hand wash, first one in a long time.

Don't use the auto hand brake function, and haven't tried it either, the car should hold its position on a rise whilst in gear(my last f10 did) I just wondered if the gearbox needed oil etc.

No ones been in the console  as far as I know.

The handbrake works as it should during parking etc.

Interested in doing this as mine has also cracked.  Is it easy to do + how much is the part?

Beat my fuelling record. Filled up with 65 litres, I could have got more in but I was getting cold and late for picking up the littl'un.

Got my replacement boot release switch, I'll hopefully fit that over the weekend.

Have a read of this thread.

Yes is the answer, straight forward and less than £6 from China via eBay.
