New to BMW, bought an E60 M5. Open to advice!

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I've gone and bought a 2005 M5 to have some fun. I've bought it to do some work too and as a beginner would like some advice and tips as I learn the car.

First off is the alloys. I'd like to buy some new ones as these have been repaired and need replacing. Tyres are good so ideally would like to keep them. Current tyres are as follows:-

Front 245/35/20

Rear 285/30/20

There are some chunky spacers on them (I haven't measured them yet and I don't yet know the offsets)

Can anyone suggest some good wheels to reduce the spacer thicknesses?

I've attached a photo of the current wheels (I don't know the name!)...

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Looks like a slightly modified car from your pic, what's the spec?

Standard Style 166 (e60 M5 Wheels) are as follows:

Front - 8.5jx19" ET12 running a 255/40/19

Rear - 9.5jx19" ET28 running a 285/35/19

Look for similar offsets depending on the width of the wheel and maybe a slightly lower (smaller no.) if you're looking for a more aggressive stance. ;)

C.

Welcome to the forum,  I am sure you will get plenty of advice as you go along, Two thungs lets see a picture of the whole car.  As for your question you may get better results if you put the question in the tech section for your car
