That's not made by Aston Martin, they are rebadhed aygo's. So it doesn't count.

No - nothing in common with an Aygo - the car is based on the iQ.

Why don't the adapt the Mini to do all the 7 seater stuff and keep BMW for what they are known for

Ummmm... A 7 seater MINI? How's that work then?...

Apart from the full Aston high quality paint job, totally redesigned interior, body work mods etc ;) but yes it's an iQ underneath.

But then the lambo and Bugatti are vw, Ferraris are fiats Aston one-77 is powered by a cosworth engine and the mclaren is built by riccardo and they also build the veyron gearbox so ;)

I understand that, but my point is that it's not build on AM's own platform, they have re-designed it from another platform.

Lambo's are not VW golf under pinnings, Ferrari's are not fiat 500's in disguise, is what I'm saying

Anyway, this is about BMW taking the wrong direction with their drive-line and styling

BMW can build tall / ugly / tall and ugly cars all they want, I don't care. Turning the engine 90 degrees? They said Jehovah.

And before anyone pipes up with xDrive or somesuch marketing babble it doesn't count with a transverse engine. Leave that to the MaxiMinis.

Well there's this...

...a "mini" the size of a small SUV thing. 7 seats wouldn't make it any less grotesque.

So, you are saying there is a Mini somewhere in this photo?

+1.

The Kia is better looking, cheaper, will drive as well and you can bet it will be more reliable with better dealer service. The BMW isn't THAT dearer than the Ford, Zafira or Kia really but it smacks of badge desperation. It's not what BMW are about. They aren't selling too well at the moment so they may well give it up as a (very) bad idea.

I wouldn't buy the BMW on principle. It's a greedy manufacturer seeing exactly what it can get away with. Making the same worthy but piss dull porridge as Kia, Ford and GM in other words.

Edit:  Saw another one one of these on the road on Friday - that's two in 5 weeks now. Fuck me they look grim.  Fool+money = soon parted.

Oh come on - that's not a very friendly way to respond..

I think the first port of call is a dealer or a specialist to have the error codes read from your car. From whet I've read, there are a few things this could be.

Are you in the AA or RAC?
