Took the rear bumper off. Checked the continuity of the parking sensor loom then swapped each sensor out, no joy. PDC error remains.

Had the front bumper off a few weeks ago to do the same.

PDC control unit providing an error so thinking issue must be with wiring within car.

I have the same issue, but not investigated it as far as you have just yet. Tried a known good module and it was the same.

Winters off, summers on.

While doing it, opened the boot, and the central locking started working. As did radio presets etc. So having thought it might be battery related, it is wiring in the tail gate that is causing me problems. So will have to get that sorted. At least I know what's what. The indy specialist didn't mention that (and I needn't have shelled out on a new battery), so maybe I should talk to my other indy who isn't a specialist but do a good job nonetheless.

The problem is explained quiet clearly here:
https://www.greenflag.com/breakdown-cover/misfuelling/what-happens

"Petrol acts as a solvent which means it prevents the lubricating action that diesel fuel delivers...
Think of it like running an engine without oil: there is a high level of friction, the high-pressure fuel pump’s high tolerance components are running without lubrication"

If it already breaks down even without getting the fuel wrong, I can't imagine if you do.

There will be some lubrication from the existing fuel left in the tank, depending how low the tank was

Drove from Gloucestershire to just over the Scottish border. Crawled through M5 roadworks and M6 congestion due to an accident. Nose to tail, not a fun journey. Pretty impressed by the fuel consumption of 53.3mpg - though it'll increase a bit when I fill up again. Not bad for a 3litre engine though.

I use this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mystore365-Diagnostic-Protocols-Mercedes-Benz-Mitsubishi/dp/B00DE8AAX2

It is good enough for my needs and I can clear the errors with it. This avoided me a few times already to have to go to the dealer.

Found out after 4 years of ownership that the E61 partition net can be installed as so:

Being lazy so had the car washed this morning. Went down the coast, had some lunch & came back to the to find it had been covered in salty sea water that dried on the way home.

So had the car washed again!

Found a rather large deep scratch while washing the car myself today (see previous post )

Broke out the rotary and the G3, went round the car doing spots and any marks I could find. Will do a full machine polish in the summer.
