  1. Hi everyone. My front tyres have excessively worn on the outer edges after having the tracking and alignment done a few months back. can you please tell me the optimum toe / camber setting for maintaining a good balance of grip and even wearing? When my tracking was last done the rears had excessively worn on the inner edges so I requested that they were stood up as close to vertical as was reasonable.. but now my fronts outer edges have gone!! It is a 2008 530d e60 running on spyder style 172 alloys. The front tyres are 245/35/19. I like a bit of spirited driving on occasions (it's a bmw afterall).
  2. Wanting to know what tyre size were/are people running on their MK's. Bare in mind the car is very low... WIDTH: 9" front / 10.5" rear OFFSET: et15 front / et22 rear I was thinking; Rear: 265/30/20 or 255/30/20 Front: 235/35/20 Cheers, Shaz
  3. I need to get my tyres changed on an E61 525d 2009 M Sports and I was wondering if I could change them to something else a bit more reasonably priced and not so low profile. Any ideas, as according to my wife the red indicator is on right now, and I need to sort something out. Most of the driving is on the motorway and usually well within speed limits, ie no hooning around. Don't want to go the cheapest, but definitely something safe and cheap. Any tips on where to get them would be much appreciated too Thanks Jon
  4. Hello, I have just purchased an F11 M Sport 520d. It was 2nd hand but I really fell in love with it so picked it up today. I am wanting to get some of the bits I want for the winter sorted - so purchased a 2nd set of style 236 17" wheels taking 225 55 17 tyres. BMW themselves promise me that there will be no issues fitting these to my M Sport 520d touring F11. I do hope that is the case. As I do not wish to part with a further £1800 (the quoted amount from BMW) to have a spare set of wheels, I am now trying to source the tyres to go on my 2nd wheels. What do people reccomend? I do not mind not using RF tyres as I have just purchased a conti-mobility pack and based on what I have been reading on these forums, every single one of you seems to indicate that ditching the runflats as soon as possible is nothing but bliss. So, could someone please reccomend me what they would suggest I fit to my new (used) F11? Thanks Iain
  5. Hi, My car is giving a tyre pressure warning and the manual doesnt say what the pressure should be, probably due to it not being run flats. Can anybody tell me what the pressure should be for a 525D touring. Thanks Jon
  6. I recently bought a tyre from a big tyre distributer on ebay. They wrote back to say that the date of manufacture was the 43rd week in 2010, and do i still want it? Ive been trying to do some research as im sure I spoke to a tyre shop in the recent years and they said it was illegal to sell tyres over a certain age. Does anyone have any insight or facts on the matter?
