    PDC issues

Hoping someone can help with this! Have an issue with PDC at the rear of my 2001 E39 where if you turn the ignition to position 2 (dash lights on) and turn on the PDC and walk up to each they work fine. If I connect the laptop and view the output of all the sensors they can be seen to be working OK. However, if I start the car the sensors then go mental and start beeping away and the laptop shows they think they're detecting something - No error codes recorded Actions so far: I have replaced all the rear parking sensors All rear sensors click away fine I have replaced the PDC unit I have cleaned all the connections

    Parking sensors issue

Hi, I have 2006 520d, in a cold weather parking sensors do not work. It started a year ago. I realized when the weather is under 13 degree it does not work. I listened to clicking noise and changed the ones do not work. But it happened again this winter . In a warm weather it does work. Does anyone know what is the issue. Many thanks

    Parking sensors Not working

Hi guys read something on this page about parking sensors as mine just give me a long beep, and light flashing, so I done what I read on this forum, that if you have ignition on second click and car in reverse you can listen to sensors for clicking as would of thought it was a faulty sensor, but all of mine are clicking but PDC still not working any suggestions before I take to a garage? Cheers Luke

    Prefacelift PDC module

Hey guys, Are rear PDC modules interchangeable? I have a late 1999 E39 523i with rear PDC. I want to sort out my PDC system by replacing the module in the boot. The one that's in the car is black with two plugs (black, and white), and has a part number 66.216904023 with SW1.3 Code09 stamped below that. After typing my VIN and looking on realOEM, i found that the part number is different (66.209129815). When scrolling though eBay, i see a lot of PDC modules that look similar to the one i have (same plugs and colours), but have different part numbers, and stamped with SW1.1 or SW1.2, and code08. Can I use any of these? NB: I checked INPA for any errors, and there was a voltage error which im guessing is the module...which also obviously threw up error codes for the 4 sensors. The PDC is silent most times when selecting R, other times it'll just have a continuous tone. Symptom of a faulty module? Thanks
  5. Hi All hopefully someone can help save me some £'s! Late last year I had a faulty parking controller replaced under warranty. After the work the battery has drained a few times, I never put 2 and 2 together as I put it down to lack of use and cold weather. The lack of use is the same as usual and the battery has never draine before, ie my driving patters are the same. I have already removed the in car phone fues and the next step is to disconnect the traffic master unit to save more drain. The issue appears to be related to the rear sensors as I noticed that even when the ignition is off all the sensors are clicking away, in otherwords they appear to be permanently turned on. The car is booked in with BMW to have a look but unfortunately my AUC warranty has expired, I am now looking at possible diagnostic charges which may be paid under good will but I obviously fear the fact I may end up having to pay for work. HAs anyone else ever had this issue or can someone quickly look at their car and listen to see if the rear sensors are always live and clicking? If they are supposed to turn on only with the button pressed or the car in reverse, is there a simple switch to replace/check for? The last question is, if they are not supposed to be permanently live, the problem occurred after the new controller was fitted, should I really be paying anything? In my mind I shouldn't and the diagnosis costs are almost the same as a brand new battery so I would rather disconnect the sensor controller and put a new battery in myself (the current one was fitted less than 2 years ago by BMW but the warranty on that is only if the battery has a fault not relating to being drained).... Any advice greatly welcomed. thanks Mike
