This is my new 9' replacement unit I recently bought, sins the old one was a goner. In some ways a miss the look of the old unit but on the other side, this one is the state of the art and has everything you need, in a modern (23 year old) car. This is a Android "tab" and works exactly like one. This unit has a ottacor processor, 4g ram and 60g built in memmory and Android 9. It was a PITA to install sins the unit is aproxemetly 3mm to tall but wiring is a plug and play, it comes wit a bultin canbus that workes as intended.
My 5 year old head unit was starting to act up and the touch screen was beginning to have a life of its own, so I bought a 9' unit that works just like an android tab. Now, if you ask; was it easy to install? both yes and now. I have found out that all similar (and they are) units are a bit to tall and actually can not fit, unless you cut a little bit of the instrument panel underside. Then, and only then, you can press (with some force) the unit in place instead of having it hanging out of the intended hole. One good thing with this particular unit is that it is shallow and takes up almost no space and it has a builtin canbus. This unit came with a rather dul layout, so I found this BMW laiout on the internet that is pretty nice (and iteractiv) and it has some cool features.
Hi, I'm looking for advice on what to do next: The car is a 2011 F11 with Pro-Nav, 4 days ago the Navigation map function started showing the wrong location for the vehicle...is was off by ~50 miles. when driven, the location moved...so it was just using the last known direction and the wheel speed information only...i.e no GPS data being received. this weekend I pulled the main head unit out and "re-made" the GPS entenna connection just in case it was a bad connection but still no success. I'm reconciled to a head unit repair to the GPS Decoder function.............So has any other forum member got any advice/experience of this issue previously. I'm looking for a UK repairer... Peter.
Hi Just bought an e39 off here, wondering if anyone can help. The android headunit that came with it has a currupted SD card, so the SAT NAV doesn't work, searched high and low but can seem to find a map to download or install. So was wondering if anyone knows or has any asvice on this. I've attached pictures for reference, many thanks guys
