  1. Hi all, I am new here but I have been reading for a few days now. Looking to buy a E60 so it would be great if you could help me with this! Ideal car to find: E60 2005-2007 auto gearbox, £7000-9000, up to 80.000miles, < 3L engines (less HP, cheaper to insure!), full leather, heated seats, iPod connection, NO-runflats! (anything else on top of this is a welcomed extra) E60, 520d & 525d vs 523i & 528i (I only do a max of 7000miles/year) Check EGR and Main Stat > Hidden menu after engine warm up should be: 89-93C Auto-Gearbox - listen for any crashing sounds Swirl flaps (higher mil are is more risk?) Oil leaks (Turbo, etc) DPF check on iDrive anything else ??? I don't mind doing some work myself on the car with some guidance on the forums, ..I have done this on some past cars with very good results, but I have never messed with a more "computerized" car like this (I had cars usually <2000) Any other advice before I go out there and start to test drive? For under 7k miles/Y would you recommend the petrol engine rather than the diesel? Thanks so much for any help in advance! Andy
  2. Hi guys, Need some expert advise from bmw enthusiasts. Always wanted a bmw but everytime ended up went with something more practical. Not really a car person and enjoy the creature comforts so not too fussed about squeezing out every bit of horsepower. That said I would like it to drive effortlessly and be up for road trips. Anyway the time has come to sell my mondeo, so maybe a bmw next... I plan to keep the car for 18 - 24 months, so if possible an option that will retain as much value for that period. I understand these cars have high maintenance costs and obviously nobody wants to have to spend too much on it, so advice on what to keep away from would be nice. The car will probably do about 8-10k a year It needs to be an estate and auto. That's about it really, is it possible? Cheers Jon
