Hi, I was hoping someone could help, i currently have a F10 520d which has been leaking water in the rear passenger side footwell, i cant seem to find where it is coming from. The sides of the footwell are all dry the top of the floor mat is dry so im assuming it is comming from underneath the car. Any idea? I have no sunroof and all seals on the door seem fine thanks in advance
Does anybody else find that during the winter months, their windows tend to mist up unless the aircon is on or a window left ajar? I have heard about the F10 yellow grommet causing water ingress in the n/s/r footwell. My last E60 sunroof drains sometimes got blocked resulting in water in the boot, and my previous 7 series suffered from clogged front scuttles, which let water get into the front footwells, but I don't think this is the problem with my F07. I can't actually find any evidence of water inside the car, so could it be something to do with a faulty EGR cooler (which I think is leaking) causing moist air to come into the cabin? Another thing I had with the E60, was the air recirculation valve failing into recirculation mode, but I think I can hear mine working. The A/C works fine, but if I leave it turned off on a cold and wet day, the windows steam up after a few minutes. I always have the fan running at least on low and as many vents open as possible.
Hi, I'm new to this forum and understand how valuable some of the information supplied by fellow owners can be. One evening the alarm started to sound on the vehicle which I could not turn off using the remote. It was raining quite heavily and had been for some time so I thought it may have been over sensitive. I checked the vehicle to investigate further and noticed that the footwell in the driver side was soaking wet. I had had the wet footwell problem previously and thought it may have been due to clogged pipe or build up leaves/debri just under the filter, however this was not the case. As I got into the vehicle I tried to drive, but the car thought that the driver side door was still open and would not let me move more than a few feet before stopping automatically, clearly there was an electrical fault due to the leak. I had the vehicle towed to a BMW specialist, I had to have all the rubber seals replaced and electrical wiring fixed. The water was leaking through the front windscreen as the seals had started to leak, to my knowledge the windscreen was still the original so I have no idea how it had started to leak. Just for reference if you do experience wet footwells it can be due to the rubber seals to the windscreen.
Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and hoping somebody can help. I have a BMW f10 2012 m sport and all of a sudden in the last few weeks noticed a puddle of water in the rear nearside footwell, weird as every other footwell is completely dry and no signs of water coming from roof or doors. After a friend tried to find the problem for me, we noticed in the engine bulk head that the nearside was filled with water. But we don't understand if this is the problem and if it is how is it travelling into the car and only to the rear footwell under the carpet? Has anyone come across this problem and a resolution to it as it needs resolving quickly. Any pictures or ways to resolve the problem would be appreciated thanks in advance
Hi all, Recently bought an M Sport E39 530d touring 2002. Loving almost everything about it but have just discovered a huge pool of water under the spare wheel. I have now managed to drain that out through the drain holes in the floor, which I shall reseal once the problem is cured. I am getting some water ingress from the nearside of the car through, I think, the ventilation flaps behind the bumper sides, which are just visible from inside the car, behind the cd changer. How do I cure that, when they are designed to open!? My suspicion however is that the majority of the water is coming from the offside, from beneath/behind the battery or fuses etc which are located here. Any suggestions where to look? My car doesn't have a sunroof and I don't think it's the rear lights (both highlighted issues when searching online). The problem has obviously been happening prior to my ownership since the floor of the spare wheel well has paint peeling and is generally not too clever. Are there's drains from the tailgate hinges and could these get blocked? All suggestions welcome.
