Been getting an intermittent fault with the Active Cruise Control for a while now but became much more frequent in the last few weeks. (Drove through a monstrous down pour last September on the motorway that would have seen Noah getting the hammer and nails out...). Most of the time stopping, locking and unlocking the car would fix it and the occasional clear of an ACC Sensor code would be needed with the Foxwell tool. Found a great tip (on another forum) using a hooked pick or hose remover to unpick the tabs from the front. The photos will hopefully help others line up their tool to get at the tabs. You only need to get the top 4 tabs then the whole grill will come off, you can’t access the bottom tabs from the front. Cleaned the front of the radar sensor and took off the plug to find quite a bit of corrosion on 2 of the pins as well as a bit of dampness inside the socket on the sensor. (I’ll give the inside of the plug and socket a blast with some electrical contact cleaner later) Scraped the pins, picked out the green corrosion from the plug and dried the dampness. ACC seems to be back in action when called on but as always I won’t trust an intermittent fault until I’ve driven it for a week or two (hope it’s ok as a new system is a fortune!)
Lishka posted a topic in F07/F10/F11 2010-2017Help! I'm getting a little judder / kick around 12 - 1500rpm and quite a lot of black dust when under load, so much so that there's a constant black mark around my rear bumper / exhaust area Now then when I turn the engine off there's a brief clicking noise from around the egr / vacum pressure valve, now putting two and two together I disconnected the valve (part number 7.02318.00) unbelievable no judder and no smoke under load! Would it be possible for somebody to confirm if 1) it's ok to drive with this plug disconnected? (It's drove so smooth and without any obvious issues for the last 10miles) 2) which part could be faulty? I'm getting married on the 1st July and really can't afford any £1000 garage bills at the moment. Somebody suggested spraying a tin of egr cleaner through it which I did, but with no effect. The only thing that cures it is disconnecting the plug to what I believe is the vacum pressure valve? Many thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post
MAD ANDY posted a topic in E60/E61 2004-2010Hi all, My E60 530d has had a scrape and since then the PDC hasn't worked I've read as many threads as possible before posting this and I've noticed/tried the below: - I haven't once received the PDC Failure notice - 'CHECK' shows no faults - When activated by selecting reverse or pressing the PDC button the LED stays lit but doesn't flash - When deselecting reverse the PDC stays active for a few seconds as per usual - Turning on PDC and listening for clicking at each of the 8 sensors - they ALL click?! Bizarrely when turning PDC off they still click?! - Unplugging the 3 connections in the PDC module and reconnecting - no difference, but this is the only time the PDC button flashed (when unplugged) - Holding PDC down for 10 seconds before turning on engine - iDrive reset using volume, CD eject and DVD eject Nothing has resolved PDC visual still appears in iDrive but no audio/colour indicators Any ideas? It seems most have a PDC failure warning or one or more sensors don't click but all mine do?! Thanks
