    Really loud X5 in cabin

Hi- first time on here. My X5 05 reg is so loud in the cabin as I drive, I feel like we are about to take off- the only time the noise stops is when I turn right. Anyone know what this could be? Its like the revs are really high but when I look at the monitor it’s not at all. Thank you.

Steering wheel sold sill trims sold wheels sold If you require any parts arts please contact me on 07500403008 or pm me on here i am located in in west London, UB6. thank you Sanjay Gore

    Help! 530d msport poorly

Hi all, forgive me for my inexperienced post but I'm a newbie and really need some advice. Ive got a 530d msport e60 2005 and I've had it for a few months now. It started off with an idrive problem and it's now spiralled into a few other issues and I need to know what to do with it. I want to buy some new parts, and fit them. I just need to know which ones and why etc. Firstly, the idrive system works until I turn the car on and off again. It constantly reboots. Is there a cheap easy fix? I've tried resetting it but no luck. If not I can deal with it as it's not mega issues. Secondly, a few issues which I'm not sure are all related? But here we go. It may not be in order. My car is exceptionally smokey. It plummets out black thick smoke especially when I put my foot down a bit. It is very smelly of diesel and makes me very poorly when driving with any window open. I've got thick soot on the whole left hand side of my engine bay, been told I have an exhaust manifold leak. What parts do I need to fix it and how? I don't fancy going to a garage. I also have a very whiny turbo as it spools. It's very very loud. Also a loud blowing noise. it also goes into different severities of limp modes sometimes there's absolutely no power sometimes there is. engine light came on 2 months after these problems started. The front two alloys have two ridiculously large dents in, done by previous owner. I'm not THAT much of a typical woman driver.....;) haha. I'm planning to get this sorted soon so I'm not driving round with 9psi in them!!!!! Grrrrrr I know its not the best of explanations especially hard to determine what's the problem whilst not seeing or hearing, but I'd like to get some advice as to what this could be and why and I can go from there. I don't really fancy going to a garage because either me or my partner can fix it, just need some guidance as to where to start as we're used to old jap crap. Thankyou!!!! Xxxx
  13. I recently upgraded to Throwing stars, so my original 15x7 (ET20, 72.5mm centre bore) BBS alloys are for sale, including the spare wheel. Part number for all the wheels is: 36111179774 The tyres are all 225/60/15 - the fronts are about 5-6mm (Marshal Matrac) in excellent condition and the rears are around 3-4mm (Continental ContiPremiumContact 2), which are still ok to use. The spare has an old Pirelli P600, but in good condition (5-6mm) and holds air. I have 4 centre caps and the wheels are 100% straight, balanced and tested - ready to bolt on. Would be looking around £250 ONO and collection from west London. If interested, please PM me. Thanks

  16. Bought a key off amazon or ebay, cant remember which but I've just tried to hold it up to the key logo on the steering column while starting the car and it hasn't coded to the car. Should I really be surprised? I did do my homework and check the Mhz of the old key etc however the new key hasn't taken to the car. The old key managed to be retrieved after 16 hours under salt water in a marina but its obviously toast. Basically I just need the electronic part programmed. any thoughts or advice or should I just write off the £50 and go straight to the dealer with pants round my ankles?

    1994 BMW E34 540I - GF22093

Hello And Welcome I'm a firm believer that somethings are just meant to be and today that philosophy come bouncing into play much like it did with the Silver Unit ( Butler HQs Original Silver 540i ) Today innocently going to view an E34 with my Poppa ( Carl-E34 ).. 100 + miles from home as you do on arrival I became strongly attached to this diamond in the rough I couldn't help but think with a little Butler HQ love It could make a very special E34 and I truly thought that maybe Butler HQ was its last hope. Shes defiantly a project make no mistake about that but what else are you gonna do on a cold damp winter weekend ? before I could pull myself away as in the worlds of the late Marlon Brando the seller made me an offer I couldn't refuse... and a deal was done. I'll be embarking on this project with one person in mind. Tomorrow will be the full fat first update with all the great and gory details. Comments Welcome.

    New e34 owner

Hey all been lurking around for several years on these forums finally have a reason to sign up! i purchased my e34 520i last week. It's had a recent full respray in technoviolet and has no rust whatsoever (one of my main reasons buying it - I had a prefactlift E30 325i once upon a time which was a rust magnet). I had an e34 535i sport in techno violet and cream leather interior. Needless to say this bought back memories! I will be sticking with the black for now (after front sport seats! I think the rear are same?) It has had a reconditioned auto gearbox fitted and the m50b20 sounds sweet albeit savagely thirsty. It has he electric black leather interior which is more comfortable than my Mk7 GTD heated leather! the car came with a few minor issues needing attention: *power steering pipe leak (low pressure hose) *A/C pump seized *one piece door trim missing (already ordered) *intermittent/crazy central locking! * dash pixels almost dead/ineligible driverside electric recline mechanism link broken (motor working). *sagging headliner im sort of putting off fixing the mechanical niggles as I have a m62b44 and gearbox, ews ecu loom etc. on its way from an e38 740i. I have my daily driver keeping me on the roads for now and my insurance quotations on the e34 are ridiculous (Over £2k..). Just a a few things I need some advice or help with. My car appears to be a facelift right? Wider grille etc? I can't differentiate between the facelift front and pre facelift :s Also, what other e38 bits can I salvage? I have kept the steering wheel and gearknob for now. Brakes? I was inclined to go for the e34 540/m5 upgraded set up as it would be a straightforward fit. Right? If anyone could point me to some e34 specialists who wouldn't mind taking on some work that would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get my headliner sorted first and foremost. Any trimmers recommended forwards north west London? Slowly but but surely I will get there!! I will try post as and when I start spending time on her. anyway here are some pics of the car. I still need to spend some time giving her a good clean, following some real quality pics (am a photographer by trade!) hope to to meet some cool e34 owners on here!!
  23. Hi guys I have a fault on my car suggesting I need a cam position sensor. I've found some here: http://m.mister-auto.co.uk/en/sensor-camshaft-position/bmw-5-e39-520-i-170hp_v15266_g3946.html But it looks like there's 2 types which do I need. Screenshot of fault code attached

    E39 525i Street Car

Welcome to my Topic of my 525i. I have just purchased the vehicle only 3 days ago. The car has covered over 130000 Scottish weathered miles but the previous owner piled over £2000 in the 2 years he owned it. He has all the receipts over the time he has had it (a folder full). Although at the at the moment has seen better days. The work has been done by the previous owner: Luk clutch kit Valve cover gasket Both front track rod ends Waterpump Both rear anti-roll bar drop links Thermostat All suspension arms on front Brand new key Air mass sensor Drive belt Air con belt Starter motor JOM Coilovers Both front top strut mounts Both rear control arms Both rear subframe bushes (pollybush) As you can see a lot of work and money has already went into the car. I had the car on the ramp today and can confirm that I still need to: Rectify vibration at speed (had a look at the wheels on the vehicle and can confirm all the wheels are buckled and the tyres are flat spotted.) Requires all wheels to be repaired and new tyres installed. Blow from the exhaust header downpipes to the centre section. Radio/Nav fault, No sound intermittently Sort out the body work as the bonnet has been badly repaired and the paint has cracked and various parts of rust on the vehicle. Oil leak from sump I am very chuffed with the car! I only have the one picture of it as yet as it still needs a good clean. I will try and post as much as I can as i will be doing all the mechanical work myself. I will be posting bits and bobs here and there also so if anyone needs any help i would be happy to!
