Which website is this from? It's quite a good price for that tyre.

No experience with Falken, but to keep this debate open I have Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT on mine as it left the factory and I'm very happy with these.

What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?
BarraBoy replied to F10 530d's topic in F07/F10/F11 2010-2017
I've had mine for exactly 4yrs and it's my first bimmer as well. It's been such a fantastic car in my ownership, I would need to find a dam good excuse to change it. -
Hi, if you are on Facebook look up Jay BMW Retrofits UK seems to have undertaken quite a lot upgrades for customers. There was also somebody in West London, mentioned in this forum, but I don't have the details who did the same thing. May even be the same person as above? If you're looking at a 6WA it may be worth looking at 6WB (fully digital) or adleast see what the cost difference would be? 6WA became standard on LCI models, 2013 onwards and I think that's when they brought in the 6WB as an option.

I have Dunlop RFT's on my car and have had a nail repair done on it (4 yrs ago and still going), at the time I used eTyres for that. I was confident that they would repair it as firstly I never let the tyre pressure drop and secondly it also is governed by the manufacturer whether they recommend a repair or not. Dunlop for RFT's seem to allow a repair. Check the manufacturers website.

Yes, mine does exactly the same thing in this type of weather and there is a difference in feel until the oil warms up a bit.

My 2012 bmw 520d I drive switch off and on

As above, but in case you didn't take the battery out then connecting the battery directly from the boot is generally not recommended. The best place for battery connection is actually under the bonnet where you will see a positive red cover and a protruding earthing point for the negative connection. -
With the transmission, in order to activate the sports setting for quicker gear shifts, just push the lever to the left. It will on the instrument cluster come up as S1 (this is still in auto mode but will shift only between 1 to 7 gears only). See if this helps?

satnav not working on 2016 F11 530D estate
BarraBoy replied to Rob Clarke's topic in F07/F10/F11 2010-2017
There's a video on YouTube by the name of Nut Job. He explained in there that as the ex police cars are special order directly from BMW they deleted a lot of unwanted items at the factory. Bottom line here was he was at the time mentioning adding an android compatabile device with a large screen. This maybe a cheaper solution rather than trying to revive the standard BMW satnav. Sorry, I know it's not very helpful but worth watching his videos of the differences he has come across. He even swapped out his cloth seats for leather. Also he's not posted anything in the last year, not sure why, but I did enjoy his content of challenges he had with his ex police car. -
Good choice and a nice one too. Hopefully, this one will be a keeper for you. Is this a thumping power upgrade over the Audi?

Used F10 - M sport - high or low mileage??
BarraBoy replied to Reidy_r11's topic in F07/F10/F11 2010-2017
That's a luxury I don't have....the only car I've owned that doesn't have this feature!!!! Just a note having had the F10 I soon became warey how the nice things to have are all on the options list. You can apparently spec £20k+ on these cars, those are the unicorns to look out for. Hence, take note when those selling these cars tell you that their car is well spec'd. If you're going to expect lumbar support adjustment? Yes, that too is on the options list. -

Superb's are generally well equipped (especially if you have the L&K model) including the umbrella in the door. This would just bring another factor to consider in that you'll have to find a F10/F11 with a good level of equipment to match the Superb. I have a F10 and have a family member who has a year old Superb and to be honest it would be nit picking. If i was to choose one thing that stands out to be different for me it would be the sound insulation in the cabin. In that the F10 is difinetly quieter inside, even in a M Sport running on RFTs. -
Just had mine serviced today at a main dealer. No more free tea, coffee or biscuits due to the pandemic, but yes got the soft seat and the only free thing I got was the WiFi!!! Main dealers make me really nervous, but I go out of my way to go to one that makes me a little less 'really nervous'. Overall experience today was good for me with a 3mm advisory on one of my tyre's. KOPFJAEGER - I hope Friday turns out for the better this time (Fingers Crossed)

Oil Temperature during warmup - heat on and off
BarraBoy replied to Ninja59's topic in F07/F10/F11 2010-2017
Hi, new member here and thought I put in my two pence worth on this. I have had my BMW 5 for sometime now and I too noticed the temperature moving up and then down. Yes, as the temperature of the oil rises with the heater off, I too have noticed that the moment the heater is turned on the temperature starts to drop immediately. My guess here is that as heater is turned on the water in the heater matrix is mixed along with the extra circulation demand bringing the overall temperature of the water down (I'm not an expert!!). My previous car, when I was on the darkside, a Mercedes C Class did exactly the same thing. This is all normal fluctuation of the an engine operating within it's limits. As above don't waste time on diagnosis as long as your cars come up to operating temperature. Note as we are in the cold weather season you may notice this even more.
