    E61 clock/trip reset

Thanks for the reply, yes I have an e61. I'm in Hampshire, though I'm no stranger to doing work myself I just have no idea where to start. I've sent a PM to GoNz0 hopefully he can shed some light, I just find it suspect that it all started after getting it back with the new engine but the garage swear they have no idea whats wrong with it I'll have a look at the boot wiring when I get a minute away from the kids, I've patched it up once already a couple years ago but I'll pull it all out and have a proper look Wish I had half as much time as I used to before the wife and kids came along

So I had another play about today and got some interesting results, this is a photo of my UIF, am I right in thinking all the VIN lines should be the same?

Well, unfortunately that didn't work I had high hopes this time but I'm still stuck with this issue. Anyone have any other ideas I could try?

    E61 clock/trip reset

Thanks for this, I actually found out about this module today via a youtube video, I think I may give this one a go and see what happens. I don't suppose you know what goes wrong with them? A second hand one can be got off eBay for around a tenner but I don't want to buy another dud

    E61 clock/trip reset

Thanks for the reply! Yes the battery is the same though I know it needs coding that's I assume what the 'E18F Central Registry does not match the target configuration' code is all about. All the other codes were there before the battery change I was hoping it was down to a dying battery like so many other threads I've seen, but that doesn't appear to be the case For the oil sensor I have a new one here I've been planning on replacing for the last 6 months or so, but I still think its a bit fishy that all these things came up at the same time so not fully convinced its faulty. I admit I probably should of gotten around to it by now though

    E61 clock/trip reset

Hey everyone, new to the forum read a lot but first time posting. I have a problem which as far as my searching skills go hasn't been answered before, I'll start with a bit of history and see what you guys think. OK so here goes... Mid last year the head gasket went on my 530d which killed the engine, and although probably not worth the cost I couldn't afford a new car so got a new engine fitted by a reputable garage. This is where my woes started (at least the unexpected ones) First thing as I picked it up I noticed increased battery discharge warning, along with adaptive headlights not working and oil level sensor fault. I was picking up after hours so the office was closed but I phoned first thing in the morning and was told the battery discharge would go away after being driven a bit an the headlight was a separate issue due to water getting into the unit and damaging it. The oil sensor wasn't really talked about but I took it back to get it looked at. Over the next couple of weeks I took it back maybe 3 or 4 times but they still couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, so I eventually just coded out the adaptive lights and put up with the rest. So that's how it came about, now the actual issue I'm hoping you guys can help me with. Every time I turn ignition on after the car has gone to sleep the dash flashes briefly and all the clocks and trips reset, followed by the high battery discharge warning. It only does it after the car has been idle for 10 mins or so. Also maybe related maybe not the tailgate loses power after being idle for the same amount of time, cant open it or if its open it wont close. I plugged it in today after finally getting round to looking at it properly (full time 'mum' since being furloughed and the Mrs working full time!) and these are the codes I get. I find it hard to believe all this stuff has failed but here we go 93AB Airbag 4B37 Oil Condition Sensor 42DE Glow Control Unit 42CE Communication with Alternator 426E Communication with IBS 42AE Communication with Oil Condition Sensor 483D Throttle Actuator 6E63 Brake Air Flap Left Faulty 6E0F Instrument Cluster, Interface 5F1A Performance Reduction A559 Instrument Cluster, Power Supply Switched Off E18F Central Registry does not match the target configuration 9C55 Fogging Sensor E714 Message (Battery Voltage) 9C6B Pressure Sensor, Supply Things I have tried to resolve the various issues, with no effect. New battery, unplugged IBS, had the car on a battery maintainer for a week, new alternator bushes, checked all fuses including ECU fuses, removed map, removed dension kit Any help appreciated, I'm out of ideas that aren't expensive! Thanks!
