    Thank you everyone!

Yeah, I've got quite bad osteoarthritis in both shoulder's & as a engineer since 16 I use my arms/shoulders quite a lot every day. It would appear that I have strained/pulled muscles in my arm. The main problem is I work on my own quite a lot & after goggling left arm pain, I & the hospital couldn't take any risks. Thankfully apart from the obvious I'm ok, but my day's of fixing/working on car's are numbered. Take care mate & I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    Thank you everyone!

Sorry to hear that mate, I was in hospital yesterday having a E.C.G ect after having pains in my left arm & feeling odd. Fortunately for me I'm ok but like you say it's worrying & I'm only 49.

What did you do to your E60/61 today?

I believe so to correct "sensor drif' but I've not done it.

What did you do to your E60/61 today?

Mine did this but I did have a ground to underbody interface It had bent the hanger at the side of the gearbox so it was resting against the exhaust. I simply removed it & bent it back straight. Now all good I'd suggest getting the car up in the air & running the engine so you can be underneath it while you get someone to repeat what you did, while going up & down the system looking / listening for the noise.

What did you do to your E60/61 today?

Mine sits at exactly the same height with the Arnott air springs as the oe BMW one's. You can correct or alter the ride height with ISTA.

What did you do to your E60/61 today?

Arrnot for me, that's what I have & am very happy with them about half the price of BMW. Just don't use Aerosus, crap & terrible company to deal with.
  10. The bushes can be replaced (pressed in) but usually you replace the arm because the ball joint won't be far behind.

    Swirl Flaps confirmation please?

Yeah 07 is LCI & 525 is a 3.0 lump without swirl flaps, but you found that out

Mark, Have you checked the anti-roll bar bushes? These degrade over time & you can get a bump knock.

    rotton remap bmw 525d

GoNz0 is Derby based so can't really give you any advice on down south. Celtic tuning aren't that good, it's just generic map's they upload. You want a custom optimised map for the best results but even a eco map isn't going to get you more than a 5-10% improvement on the manufacturers economy figures.

    My 'new to me' 2011 F01 730D

Also with the mileage that your new motor is on I would highly recommend getting the gearbox serviced (it's only just over the recommended mileage by ZF) I have had mine done twice & it's all the better for it, just make sure it's a full fluid exchange & not a partial drop & refill.

    My 'new to me' 2011 F01 730D

Dan, I meant to reply to this when you posted it. I run my M57 on 5W40 & have had no consumption issues, I've done 20k on it & the old girl is now on 157k. Now she leaks a tiny bit & of course there is a small amount in the boost pipe's but both these things are quite normal. Although I do wish to cure the leak's (one day, maybe )

    2008 E61 520d. Style 124 staggered wheels ok?

I put some Goodyear all season tyre's on my wife's 206 & it's ruined the normally great pin Sharp handling. I wouldn't fit them again & I have my summers & winter's for mine The winter's have been a brilliant purchase, last year in some heavy snow I didn't get stuck once. Unlike the Disco's ect with their 4x4 & 20" summer tyre's

    2008 E61 520d. Style 124 staggered wheels ok?

Yeah no worries, lot's run staggered set ups on e61's Just make sure you have the correct offset. Min 20mm or you'll need spacers, Quite a lot of us like to run spacers anyway or even less offset.
