    A ton of fault codes

Just to report back for future searchers: My EGR cooler had split / cracked and was leaking when smoke tested. BMW were ace and replaced it for free, even though my model "wasn't covered" - a 2015 F11 530D. They also replaced a sensor that had died because of it. I just got 48mpg, a new record for me, at about 75mph. I have two other faults to solve, but those codes were down to the EGR cooler common fault.
  3. Hello, I'm in the same boat, and Bluetooth audio is OK but doesn't work well with Android Auto / Android. If the context of what audio is playing changes there is about a 5 second delay of silence, so for example I'm listening to a podcast and play a message I'll miss the first 5 seconds of the message. I am considering the Android Auto add on from Bimmer tech, but first I was going to check I have "enhanced bluetooth" enabled on my car. 2015 F11 530D with the widescreen, and single central arm rest usb socket at the moment. About to do the remove the snap in mod so I get a much larger central arm rest space. Cheers
  4. Hello all, My Android Auto on phone + BT connection to my car are still a bit substandard. The audio is fine, but reading notifications and such doesn't work. So I'm thinking of buying one of these https://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw-3-series-f30-f31-f34-f80/connecteddrive-retrofits/android-auto-mmi-plus I think I've seen them for £480 in the UK. Has anyone here tried one? Cheers Russ

    A ton of fault codes

The faults were part of the pre-check, and as it had faults the tuner wouldn't have done it, even if I begged him. He also has a 530D F11 and was surprised. Luckily I had decided on a remap, otherwise I would have been driving oblivious to the fact I was nuking the DPF. I'll take it for a 5th gear motorway blast tonight, and see if the faults return and what the deal is. Mostly posting my story here in case it helps someone searching these codes in the future. Now everyone in my office with a BMW wants their car codes read by me on Monday in case they're in the same boat lol. Cheers

Hmmmm, seems an o2 sensor in the exhaust has probably failed. As that has failed it's not been doing a regen, and so the DPF is pretty full. I've paid for a DPF clean down, which will last up to a couple thousand miles apparently, whilst I get it booked in for a new sensor, full clean down, and whatever else is wrong with it. Why on earth the on board computer doesn't tell you about this fault I don't know. Cheers

    A ton of fault codes

Cheers. I do 80 miles each way to work and back, but maybe it had short journeys before that. Will try clearing them and see what the deal is afterwards.
  8. Heya, Picked up my 2015 530D estate on Saturday, no warnings on dash or fault codes. Went for a remap last night and the diagnostics tool gave the following: 28EC00 Exhaust gas pressure sensor before turbocharger, plausibility exhaust gas pressure before turbocharger not plausible to ambient pressure on overrun. 2AB600 Exhaust back pressure sensor before turbocharger, plausibility: pressure upstream from turbine too high (not plausible in relation to charging pressure and ambient pressure). 290900 Air system, air to EGR air mass flow: Plausibility measured air mass compared with calculated air mass too high. 25C800 Exhaust back pressure sensor, sensor drift outside tolerance. 245700 Particulate filter system, particulate filter subject to high load exhaust back pressure high) 287500 Lambda Oxygen Concentration implausibly low Rang BMW and apparently there's no EGR recall on it. So it's now off to the independent specialist for a look at it but he's booked out for the next 3 weeks. I'm pretty handy and the car is running fine (at the moment). I imagine just swapping out sensors is 50:50 if it'll fix it. Any ideas what this selection of codes could be please? Car has done 70k with full service history. Cheers

Android to USB a bit flakey

I just found a way to retrofit Android Auto, without a full HU replacement, https://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw-5-series-f10-f11-f07/connecteddrive-retrofits/android-auto-mmi-plus I'll see if I can get a UK price. Although it's not that much money away from a full HU upgrade then I guess

Android to USB a bit flakey

Well I can't tell any difference. If for instance I press on my phone to read a message it takes about 3 or 4 seconds for the sound to kick in, by which time most of the audio has been missed. I'll keep googling for an answer, will post if I can figure it out. Thanks

Actually there was a software update, seems to be quite a few versions on now. I'll try again tomorrow with the new software see if it behaves better.
  12. Hi all, Got my first 5 series, a 2015 530D estate, on Sunday. Very happy so far, and off for a remap on Thursday I understand I can't do screen mirroring or Android Auto. I've fitted a Brodit phone mount and that's an OK substitute, allowing me to chose podcasts, and if I cba I can send locations to my car via ConnectedDrive for nav. I can shout OK Google and get a lot of what I need that way. Firstly, is there any way to play/pause media??? It's so annoying, I have to turn it down and go back again when I'm done lol. I can do it on my phone, but the car HU only allows me to skip tracks. Seems odd. Second I can only get my phone connection to work over bluetooth. I'm connecting via usb to the centre console port and it won't play media back over usb. It also keeps asking "Share app data" on my phone, over and over, and when you click yes it seems to lose the usb connection. I think I'm running the latest software - MN-002-052-001, but I'm going to try and update it in a minute anyway. Far short of spending £2k with Bimmertech to get a newer HU is there anything I can do please? Thank you Russ
