    Stuck mpg needle

Do u know if there's any difference between the gauges? Or is the stepper motor all the same between them? Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

    Stuck mpg needle

I'm going to do alot of research before gutting the cluster, helped a friend of mine with his cluster from an e39, he accidentally broke his first cluster needles. I just hope its an easy solution for my problem, i thought of replacing the whole cluster but i read somewhere that its permanently vin locked to the car... I have been thinking about the stepper motor, going to try and replace it and hope for the best. Here is a picture of my cluster, as you can see the needle is stuck and wont move an inch. Stuck mpg needle

Hello! Bought an e61 last year with some problems such as the sunroof not working, long crank when trying to start the car, airbag light showing etc.. Now that i have fixed all the major problems i figured i could deal with the small problems aswell, one of them being the stuck mpg needle in the cluster. It doesnt move at all when i am doing the cluster test throught the hidden menu. I know the mpg needle is pretty useless but it would be nice to get it to work. I am going to take the cluster apart when i have the time to check if anything is broken inside, but before i do that i would like some thoughts on what could be wrong? Any ideas? Restraint systems gone bad

I thought you only needed to flash, program and resync time for the modules u replaced, not all of them if you only replaced one? Anyway, the new capacitors will probably be in my hands on monday, will try to fix the sgm/sim module that way.. When i'm done soldering the new capacitors on, do i need to resync time when i plug the module back in or is it just "plug and play"? Seems a bit odd that i would need to flash and program it aswell, but i'm not so sure on the time thing. Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

    Restraint systems gone bad

Oh really? How? This is the only problem i could find with the module itself, the capacitors breaking down after a couple of years. The capacitor fix is going to cost me about 20-30 euro, so why not trying this out first before buying a used sgm/sim module for 150-300 euro. Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

    Restraint systems gone bad

I had the fault code for the bst - battery safety terminal. The connector was loose so i cleaned it and plugged it back in but it ended with me changing out the battery cable instead. The fault code i am having right now is present because the capacitors in the sgm/sim module is bad and i'm trying to decide if i should try to replace the capacitors. Anyone who knows the specs for the capacitors that is inside the sgm/sim module? Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

    Restraint systems gone bad

Hello, thought i could ask some questions here since google isnt really helping. I have an error code 93f9 on my 2004 bmw e61, restraint systems failiure. I believe the last owner has replaced the sgm/sim module with another used one because the recorded miles on it is different compared to my car, however i believe they didnt "flash" it to the car wich makes my airbag light and seat belt light to come on. Any help at all would be great, i have just installed inpa, tool32 etc.. Kind of a newdie at this though! Any easy start guide to fix this would be the best! Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

Finally replaced the temp sensor earlier today, going to see if this did in fact fix my start problem and so far i havent noticed anything weird. Lets just hope it was that easy.. Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

    M54b25 rough start when warm.

I will change out the temp sensor soon, just havent had the time due to christmas etc... My plan was to have my mechanic to replace the temp sensor, but since he didnt had the time to make this operation i had to wait for a better oportunity to do this myself instead. The oil consumption is because the oil control rings on the piston is stuck, i have checked the crankcase ventilation systems and its fine as far as i can tell. Not that worried about the burning oil though. Thank you for the help, will update this thread when i have replaced the temp sensor! Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

I havent had the time to change out the temp sensor yet as i will have to remove the manifold. Lets say that i would remove the manifold, how much do i have to prepare? Any new gaskets or could i reuse the old ones? Could the temp sensor really do this much of a difference? I suspected the fuel mixture was to rich but if that was the case, wouldnt the sparkplugs be soaked in fuel? They were white/ beige the last time i checked on them. M54b25 rough start when warm.

Hello! Since i didnt really got any good answers on my last threads i'll try again! My car is having issues starting when warm, i have tried with other spark plugs and looked for air leaks without luck, i have also searched for number of faults online that would match my problem. The symptoms the car is having is rough on warm startup, burning oil (seems to be a common problem) and fuel economy is not that great (1.3L/km). The fuel pressure is present so i know the car is getting fuel, however i dont think the car is getting too much fuel as the spark plugs arent black/brown. Should i rule out leaking injectors? I know that the temp sensor that sits under the manifold is faulty according to the fault codes. Car is running rich/lean on both bank 1 and 2 according to fault codes (missfires on both banks according to fault codes). The fault codes are: 278b, 27c3, 2883, 2882, 27df and 28ac. Any help at all would be much helpfull as i'm getting tired of the random rough startups. Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk

Bmw e61 m54b25 long crank problem

I havent noticed any missfire, which made me believe the missfire fault code appeared due to the start problem. I have not changed the battery, i changed out the spark plugs just because the old ones were toasted and the cam sensor was just to test if that could be my problem. I have a fault code for the temp sensor that sits on the block and i will change it out as soon as i get the chance to. I tried replacing it this weekend but its really tight to get to the old sensor as its not much room to work with in the engine compartment. Skickat från min CLT-L29 via Tapatalk
