    Issues with upgraded 530d engine

Here is a picture from the building: And almost as it is today - I have since swapped the side mirrors for brand new electric M3 versions. Whether you like the de-badeging or not - I like it

    Issues with upgraded 530d engine

From what I have been told by the company which build the hybrid-turbo for me, the engine itself only allows for a flow of a maximum of 350bhp - and that is with different nozzels, no pump limit (maybe use a CP3) etc. (as mentioned above). The turbo is matched to the engine and even though the turbo can deliver 400bhp, I am not going near that. The turbo was picked because it is a bolt-on turbo from the E60 and just the stock version can deliver much more than the original GT2256V. To go hybrid was based on many readings were it were recommended and my turbo-guy promised it would increase longevity and driving experience as well. I have not read anything about the exhaust system being a limiter (?) I do, though, have a downpipe and EGR delete on mine. Still only 2,5". My aim with all this is primarily a smooth healthy engine just above 300bhp. I am not (and have never been) using my car for any kind of track racing etc. I just use it for going to and from work and on trips. I just fell in love with this car when I saw it and wanted to rescue it - it was in a terrible state Now, after unreasonable many €€€ spent and hours of research, it is just about to be were I want it

And it is now on its way - on to be mounted on my darling BMW - Thank You! I think I have found the linearization specs as well (188 500 3000 3312). Otherwise my chip-mech will know what to do.

I have been thinking of this one: RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog And then have my chiptuning-guy do the linearization.

    Issues with upgraded 530d engine

I have only had it changed to a new one, not an upgraded: RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog If I want to upgrade it, which model should I go for?

Pure GOLD information! Thank You! I will look into it with my chiptuning-guy as soon as possible and give him your notes. Any upgrade are welcome.

    Issues with upgraded 530d engine

I know the chiptuning-guy monitors all kinds of things when he is doing the tuning, so I have just assumed that he knew what he was doing. He did say that it seemed like there were something fishy with what fuel-pressure he wanted and what it delivered. He had to turn it up more than he used to do on a stock 530D. From what you are writing it seems like you might suspect problems with a pressure-hose/tube or the electronic controlling the fuel/air pressure? I would suspect that myself. I will try and get my INPA running and add Testo and see what it says. I do not get any errors on anything.

    Restart E39 530d Sport Touring

I am going to borrow your tip on the prop coupling on my next service Thank You! I have some noise from it and planned to swap it anyway. I do have some issues with my 530D engine with the setup of a Hybrid-Turbo and the mentioned FIRAD-nozzels, but in order not to hijack your great thread - I have created my own here: Hyrbid-Turbo 530D Maybe you have some input on that?
  9. I have some issues with OBD tuning of my 530d, and I could really use some input from someone who has had hands on experience with this (or similar) setup. My car: BMW E39 530D (2000) New high pressure pump (Bosch standard for the model). New BMW E60 GT2260V turbo which has been been hybridized by a pro company - Tested and build to deliver up to 400bhp. New E60 intake manifold. New puel pump (stock). All injectors has been tested at a Bosch center to be OK. I have had a BMW mechanic (friend of mine) to build it all, and he has said it all seems to fit together pretty good. No problems or issues with anything - mount-wise. But... The OBD tuning guy is having issues with the tuning part. It does not seem to deliver the power it should. And he does not know what is the limiter It delivers about 250bhp with the above setup... It drives okay... but not that much better than before all the mods above (it was OBD tuned before). It does give off quite some black smoke, when it is at full throttle - could that mean the turbo cannot deliver the needed air? I have two remaining projects I originally planned to complete in a couple of months and I have them lying around ready to mount: Fuel pressure sensor 1800 bar. Injectors with FIRAD nozzles - build and tested OK at Bosch center (with documentation). But will they help anything in my case - or make it worse? My BMW mech do not know where to start and he has been going through hoses, pressure tests, etc. - everything looks okay and seems to work as it should. I am really tossing and turning on this one Help, anyone?

Upgrade rail pressure sensor for 530d

OK Great news! The one I am using is the right one - Nice to hear. Bosch 0281002497 is the same as BMW 13537787167 as far as I can see. I am not sure how to make the inline extension (if I can buy it somewhere I will?) - but yes it is a very tight fit. I am still waiting for my local Bosch-autoshop to fit Firad nozzels to my injectors. As soon as they are done, I am off to my ECU-tech-guy and get the car modded with the rail sensor and injectors.

Upgrade rail pressure sensor for 530d

Yes. But as far as I read it @sinner swappes out the CP1 pump for a CP3 and changes the entire rail. I am a bit uncertain if that is necessary on my build. From what I can read on all my searches, people just write that they change the rail pressure sensor, but I have not really found out to which one - just that it is a 1800 bar sensor. I can get the E60 530d to fit, and it should be a 1800 bar sensor - but I would like an input from someone who has a succes story.
  12. I have come a long way with my upgrade of my 530d (193hp) with a E60 hybrid turbo but I am a bit unsure about which specific rail pressure sensor I should use in order to upgrade to 1800 bar. I can fit the sensor from a E60 530d with a modified cable: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=NC31-EUR-02_2005_E60_BMW_520d&diagId=13_0959#13537787167 The car turns on but needs a mod with the new sensor (linearization). But am I using the right sensor? I would like to be absolutely sure before visiting my remap-guy. I will have six new injectors with new nozzles with me Can anyone confirm that the sensor I use will be suitable, or which part number should I go for?

    Restart E39 530d Sport Touring

I have bought those FIRAD and the supplier told me it was a 100% more than stock. I currently have a Bosch-center fitting them to stock inectors and hopefully I can mount them in about a month or so.
