    Astounding economy!

A lot of it was down to road works..... but after leaving Newcastle and passing Nottingham I did decide to see how far i could push it, but not driving slowly, just carefully

    Astounding economy!

The 3 litre diesels are amazing I did a trip over 5 days In my 530D x drive from Southport to Blackburn, Newcastle, Northampton Hotel just off M1, Eynesham, Croydon and back to Lancashire, 920 miles, average was 62.9 and I still had 30+ mile range

most BMW seem to suffer from this door pin knock at some time

    Creaking Rear

I hope that works for you, I had new door seals and repeated repairs to rear seat, boot, tank, all sorts of things to try to resolve rear knocking/squeaking - it was the main reason I gave up on it before warranty expired and bought an X3, much happier since I did that on October - surprisingly built in USA it hasn't been back apart from initial dislike of how steering boss was stitched and scratch on wing mirror on collection

    Astounding economy!

I used to love my 530D X drive, I could easily get 55mpg, taking some care I could get 63mpg and have fuel left from a one week tour of uk covering over 900 miles, not getting anything like it in my X3 M40D but overall average over 9000 miles is around 40 where the 530 was 44/45 overall, so these 3 litre engines do eat some fuel in town but on long journeys at motorway speeds they are amazing...... but you cant beat the thrill of making that 3 litre roar and go like stink I used to annoy so many in my 530 coming back from Scotland to see how long it would cruise down a hill for..... miles in some cases

    Alloy Corrosion - Warranty?

I would agree, its warranty unless there is an outside influence that has caused the corrosion around the hub and a repaired kurb graze on the rim is not outside influence for that corrosion

    Creaking rear

I had so many attempted repairs that seemed to fix it for maybe the rest of the day or a couple of days but it always came back, and it wasnt just the rear seat I felt it was rear (not active) suspension or rear bodywork not secured/welded properly - Special BMW gaffer tape was used in a lot of places to try and fix it

    Keyless access break in

Its the same as its been for years with or without remote access or remote keys, if someone wants your car, especially if its a proefessional steal to order team then they will steal it. If someone steals mine I just do not want it back

    G30 creaking

It'll come back. I lost count of the number of times my seat came out and put back in, I was going to push them to check fuel tank and parcel shelf welds and boot lid but I got so fed up of rear seat creaking and rattling I got rid and bought an X3

    520d/530d conundrum.

I have got over 900 miles in my 530D Xdrive, its gone now and I'm not gettinbg anything like thatr in my X3. Typically though 700-800 is easy, long distance motorway driving 55 mpg is easy, average was around 47 over 12,000 miles of mixed driving.
