Just bought this E34 M5 3.6 1990- anyone know it?

Would it pass the MOT with a cat delete? How would it sound?

Yes it is.....so spoke to my mechanic just now. So it basically looks good from a rust point of view however it needs 2 front shocks+ control arms etc. A good service with breather pipes, dis cap etc. The only part which is going to be very costly is the catalytic converter....i have sourced a good m5 back box but going to struggle with the cats!! Any recommendations?

  5. Hi guys....i have finally got my hands on a 1990 3.6 M5 with 128k and full history. It does however need a few things sorting for its MOT and my mechanic is giving it a full checkover next week!! Firstly does anyone know this car? Secondly where can I source parts for this apart from eBay And main dealer? I know I will be needing some front shocks and possibly some rear SLS shocks( which I know cost a fair bit). Finally does anyone know where I can get the M fabric for this car....it seems like a rare fabric which the aftermarket companies don't seem to sell?. Thanks Firas

Yes he took the whole day to do the job. He used masking tape and dust sheets to cover all other areas and then reconnolised the leather. It's literally like having a brand new car inside. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Yes they do have a deeper dish at the rear but I think the 265 35 18s will work....I'm gonna switch into those and see incase the 45 are too tall. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

    M Parallel tyres

The rears a Michelin but the fronts are cheap I think.....it does sound like a rubbing noise....car drove fine with the 16s it was on. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

    M Parallel tyres

Hi guys I fit the 18" M Parallels from an e38 to my e34 Front tyres 235 40 18 Back 245 45 18 It sounds like there is a humming sound coming from the front at certain low speeds and when turning. Could be transmitted sound from the back too....the wheels have the wider rear e38 set up. Car was fine before the wheel swap. The garage that repaired the rust fit the wheels to the car and reported rubbing with the original tyres from the e38 so therefore fit the above tyres.... I have looked at the fronts and they seem fine (no rubbing) but the rears appear tight (inner edge) The rear tyres should be 265 35 18??? Would they be less chunky than the 245 45s I have ? Yeh very good job....it took around 4 hours and he sanded down the seats and filled some of the cracks and reconnolised the leather in Lotus white and then coated it with a matt finish. Much cheaper than a retrim and keeps the original leather too....I feel like I'm sat in a new car...even the smell is great:) Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
