E39 530i touring

Don’t mention the Sale of Goods Act as it hasn’t existed since 2015. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 is what you’re after.

Took the old girl to visit my mate’s ramp to investigate the blowing exhaust. Leaking from the usual place where the downpipe joins the centre section. Studs are knackered so they’re going to need grinding, drilling out and replacing with nuts/bolts and new gaskets.

Absolute bargain!

Anyone? -
I’ve only used it on the doors of an EP3 Civic but found it did make a difference. I’d start with the easy bits like the spare wheel well and see what happens.

Hi Can anyone tell me the size of the two gaskets that sit between the downpipes and centre section of a 530i please? Part number is 18107502346. Many thanks!

Washed it and gave the engine bay a quick once over. Hardly mint but a big improvement!
-
They also live on a slightly tattier silver 530i touring
-
Thanks! I don’t have that exactly, it’s what the powder coated calls dark gunmetal
-
Revived the front brakes to go with the freshly refurbed wheels. Makes a huge difference. Rears tomorrow!

Just had my PS4 fitted but only done a few miles locally, nothing remarkable to report so far, ride quality and noise don’t jump out at me as being a problem we’ll see at some higher speeds. Only issue is I don’t normally “do” comfort, with the exception of an e32 many years ago I generally tend to buy pretty firm cars so maybe my opinion is invalid. Best riding cars I think I’ve been in would be parents’ hydropneumatic Citroens in the 80s and 90s.

That’s alright then, cheers! Runs fine with the MAF plugged in normally.

I accidentally left my MAF unplugged for a few days after doing some other work, car drove fine. When I spotted it the engine was running so plugged it back in which instantly stalled the engine - is that normal behaviour or does it indicate a bad MAF? Car seems to run well normally with the MAF plugged in.

No, a square set, 2 individual pairs. Will play it safe and go for a bright silver.
