  1. What do I need to look for in picking a good decent reliable boiler for a good price? I've got a few plumbers coming around to give me a quote for a having a new boiler installed and the existing plumbing moving to an external pantry. Our house is a 2 bed semi with 7 radiators. All the plumbers have asked me if I have any type of boiler in mind and I don't have a clue. I want to make sure I don't get ripped off. I did tell one of the guys that I might like a Worcester boiler, to which he replied that they are S**t.

Where are going to do get your timing chain done? Mines got 154k on it and I've just bought it last week, so I too want to get this job done.

    E39 M5 Buying Advice

Hi All, Sorry if this type of post has been covered a million times. Looking to buy an e39 m5, I am not expecting one to be in the best condition but would like it to be priced fairly for the condition and to be an honest car. Happy to sort any problems later. I have not owned a BMW in a few years. Therefore I am bit rusty, so my question is.... What tell tale signs should I look for and what the common problems? This is the car I am interested in buying https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E39-M5-2002-FBMWSH/224087322804?hash=item342ca530b4:g:EtcAAOSwsvhe4iMw Thanks everyone.

    E39 M5 Buying Advice

Thanks guys, all advice taken on board. I’ve never been a diesel lover and I also don’t like modern cars. Think it might be that I’m just used to driving fast cars such as 330i (e46) and 530i (e60) so was expecting this to feel crazy fast. I’ve put v power in and it’s seems to be doing better. The more you drive the better it seems. I think it’s because it’s been sat supposedly for 9-8 months. Sorry don’t have many photos just yet.

    E39 M5 Buying Advice

Thanks for help guys. I am now an M5 owner. The car isn't in the prefect shape, needs some work doing to it but atleast it runs and drives. I would say its in the upper middle, between bad condition and good condition. I hope I don't regret buying it. First job on the list is too sort the leaking diff. Does your M5 feel fast below 2k RPM? I find the throttle response is not very active, you have to press on it hard to make the car move, and when it starts moving it starts moving, but not enough to glue your head to the back of the seat.

    Coronavirus/Covid19

How do we get people to listen. Stay at home and keep your social distance. It’s simply not worth risking your own live and others. Theres never been a better time to be on lockdown. Now that I’m home I feel like I actually know my friends and family better, because of our smart phones.
  9. I have the opportunity to buy a e91 318d LCI 2011 as my new daily driver off a mate, which he has had for 5 years. Its got four new tyres on it and dpf removed and its been remapped. All Brakes renewed over the last two years. Mileage is 154K and think it had new flywheel and clutch at a 100k. He has always done regular oil changes on it, but only when the trip computers tells him to do it. My biggest concern is the turbo, not sure he lets the turbo spool down. This will be both my first diesel and turbo car, so the the question is.... and I know its really vague, do you think I would get a years trouble free motoring out of it, will the turbo last, and how much should I expect it to depreciate in a years time? This would be a car that I wouldn't have any passionate in driving and would purely buy to upgrade from my current accord with zero street credit until I decide what car I really want.

    e91 318d reliability and worth

I’ve backed out the sale. My mate found that rear diff busing mount was leaking. That just confirmed that the car is at an age and mileage where it will start costing money to maintain other then the usual service. Which normally I don’t mind but only if it’s a car that I’m passionate about and is rewarding to drive.

    e91 318d reliability and worth

I've bought it now £2940 - but doesn't get handed over to me until another weeks. In that time it will have had an oil change and new MOT put on it. Mileage is 154k, its M Sport in white, with black leather interior and usual spec with climate control etc but doesn't have idrive. Its got the revised N47 Engine, which is N47N where the chain issue was supposed to have been fixed. Its a manual 6 speed

    Is Audi overtaking BMW?

I Agree. Have you seen the new 3 series, looks like a Lexus from the back, and the 320d has two tail pipes, which back in the days used to be reserved for a proper power house like 335i. Stinks of desperation to me, to appeal to the masses. I don't even know if one of the tail pipe is just for show? The real question is.... Where BMW ever in front? Don't really answer that questions guys, was only meant to be joke.
  15. what is that? Is it a nissan primera?

    Drilling straight

Thanks i did do the latter. Questions: When drilling through plaster board and then brick, do I start on drill mode and then switch to hammer mode once I hit brick? With the pilot hole should go through the wall as far as I would with the main drill bit? Thanks

    Drilling straight

I will try going all the way through next with a pilot hole next time. I did do a pilot hole just to mark the screw holes but didn’t go all the way through. Keep the advise coming guys if there’s anything new.
