I nearly mentioned the glovebox as I recently repaired mine as the switch was missing, I discovered that it only works with the ignition on so with key out would not give a parasitic drain ☺
-
if you have a voltage drain then 1st things to check is the boot light is going off when shut, if that's OK then put a multimeter in series with the battery positive pole and terminal, any current drain will show up straight away. start removing fuses one at a time to see what circuit is draining battery.

there are some on eBay but I don't think they are Hella, I would like to do something with my dipped beams, the glass comes out on them but the main beams are sealed, I did my main beams recently as they always seem to fog up!
-
they like to seize on, not cheap to buy new either, I had to get brutal with mine to get them off (headlight in a vice and turn!) but I was fitting new lamps anyway but needed the plastic bits..
-
I failed to remove the bolt so taking it to my local specialist next week, if it needs a radiator then so be it, just want the car 100% sorted ☺ Mark

only really drips when engine been running, a couple of drips over night.. bought a new drain screw and in the middle of extracting the old one, I have drilled a 4mm hole by had with a drill bit in an old chuck just to be gentle. also bought a set of easy outs to extract it and it's come out a bit, ran out of time so will hopefully get it out tomorrow and fit new bolt.. Mark.

just ordered a new drain bolt from BMW, mine was only held on with gunge! the hex part came off with no effort, looks like I will have to remove the radiator to get the rest out... so far M5 ownership has been no fun, one thing after another need repairing
-
thanks for confirming that, I thought it looked odd! I will get one ordered ASAP and fitted! car is grounded until fixed ☺

I have a coolant leak on my M5 and it appears to be coming from under the radiator, I need to start pulling stuff apart to see for sure but I noticed the blue drain plug looks very odd how it is fitted to bottom of radiator. was very hard to get a good clear picture but you can just about make out how it looks! it looks off centre and not true, not sure how this can be but I'm hoping thi s is where the leak is coming from...

cheers, did it quite easy, hardest part was getting the hoses off the junction connector, it's a little beat up so siliconed together, this must be a quick release thing in case you need to remove bumper I'm guessing! think I'll change all the pipe work whilst I have the opportunity..
-
anyone ever changed their headlamp washer hoses? I'm looking to change some of mine as they are leaking badly and wondered what and where they sourced replacements and clips? also is it a bumper off job as it seems very tight behind there! cheers, Mark.

3 years on and still looking for my dream M5, had a nice 635csi in-between but my hankering for an E34 has led me back to the hunt, if anyone knows of one for sale other than the ones on eBay etc.. please let me know! cheers, Mark.

yes I have considered one but it would have to be very special with low milage for me to consider one.. I was all set to go and have a look at a UK Limited edition (8 of 50) this weekend but a little research found a picture of the owner racing it round a track no wonder it's been for sale a few months! I have also been in touch with Keith that has 4 for sale! I think one may be out of my budget but you never know.. Mark.
-
nothing against them, just always like the E34! it will be a 2nd car so more chance of getting one on a classic policy too.. I would like to hear peoples thoughs on insurance and various M5's as 2nd cars though
