Thanks man. It's a real photo but I played around with it on Adobe Lightroom...mainly made the background darker and gave it a cold tint to it. I left the car with the warm tint from the street lamps.

Facelift 530d, 530i, 535i, and 540i share the same calipers.

I've done the 296mm to 324mm upgrade on my 523i. I used facelift 530d calipers and carriers with 530i discs. The difference in brake is noticeable, in terms of feel and performance. Highly recommend it if you have a 520i - 528i, 525d, or a prefacelift 530d.

Indeed, I have 45W LED bulbs in there at the moment and they have been okay. They are brighter than the OEM 10w incandescent bulbs. I don't think that the LED bulbs generate as much heat as regular bulbs.

    Thanks!

Not particularly. My driving style varies between old granma and boy racer, just depends on my mood and the road. Make sure there's always oil in the engine. Don't rev past 3.5k rpm until it's at optimum temperate

DerekJr. got a reaction from Pricey in e39 Coding options whats available
It's down to a mixture of your software (e.g. NCS Expert can code more than iCarly, however, it is also a lot more involved/complicated) and what modules are fitted to the car.

From personal experience with NCS expert, I've coded these on my 1999 523i in the past:

Dimmed indicators with sidelights (USA spec) Doors automatically lock at 16km/h Alarm chirp when locking and/or unlocking Hazards flash when locking and/or unlocking Panic mode (long press boot button on fob) LED taillights (retrofit facelift taillights) Activate/deactivate "Follow me home" lights and the various lights (in my case, front side and fog lights only) Turning off cold checking of various bulbs (useful when fitting LED or HID bulbs) Euro DRL Danish DRL Windows still work for a few minutes after key removed from ignition One touch window switch work while door is opened
From what I've seen in NCS Expert:

Angel eyes to flash with indicator Comfort opening/closing Mirrors fold/unfold when locking/unlocking (If equipped with folding mirrors) Doors auto lock after 2mins if no door has been opened Doors auto lock after reaching a certain speed (e.g. 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, or 17mph) Interior lights soft on/off (factory spec for most euro cars are soft on) Reduce wiper speed when stopped Set the distance of when the PDC starts beeping There are a lot more coding that can be done

The left-hand beam was aimed slightly higher than the right beam. You can adjust the beam using the screws on the headlamp. I just didn't fine-tune it by the time this picture was taken.

Still working like the first day I fitted them. I've had no problems with it. The company brought out the next gen projector shortly after I fitted mine, with a more European slanted kick.

It was fine during MOT and passed the 2019 and 2020 MOT with no issues regarding the headlamps. I bought a Y splitter so that my high beams still work when the dipped beam is off and I flash my lights.

Retrofitted heated sports seats a few months back. While doing research, I found out that if you have heated or active seats, you'll only need two wires for a power rear sunshade (and the switch pack obviously). Bought a parcel shelf with the power rear sunshade but it had no fabric. Recovered the shelf in black suede, and retrofitted it to the car.  Now my switch pack is looking more populated compared to when I bought the car (ASC only vs Heated front seats, ASC, and now Rear Sunshade).

Also, I bought one of those ModLight modules so that the angel eyes illuminate and the mirrors unfold/fold when I unlock/lock the car via the key fob, giving it that modern feeling. I've also activated flashing high beams when I press the lock button twice for no reason what so ever. I feel like activating the cornering lights but I'm on the fence at the moment.

Tomorrow, I will tackle replacing my boot lid and fitting a reverse camera that's built into the handle. Therefore, I still keep the boot handle function.

    1) Finally got around to fitting my M5 style power-folding mirrors.
    2) While the door cards were out during doing the above, I replaced some of the plastic clips to eliminate some of the rattles I heard from the door going over bumps.
    2) Test fitted my AC Schnitzer 3 piece boot spoiler. Now I need to paint it before fitting it.

I heard about a car that was pulled over for no tax or insurance. Turns out the driver just bought the car from a Facebook ad and were on their way home. The driver was fined for no tax/insurance and for breaking the lockdown rules. His buddy in the other car was fined for breaking the lockdown rules. I laughed when I saw that post.

I've noticed this evening that most takeaway shops, of which there are a lot in Portsmouth, are closed. The only places that are opened now are the supermarkets, convenience stores, fuel stations, and Dominos (delivery only).

The sports bumpers that I fitted to my e39 definitely feels different from my SE bumpers. SE bumpers feel more durable and robust.

Heated seats retrofitted and working. It took 6 hrs from start to finish thanks to this forum   I love the fact that the sport heated seats have additional heating in the side and bottom bolsters, as well as in the pull out thigh support.
