The 1999 BMW 5 series brochure turned up. Now I know what it feels like when people were buying a brand new e39 back in 1999. I do love the pull out pages lol. I didn't know there were two different fabric seats offered. There are a few colors I haven't seen before, too.

    Exterior Paint:
    1) Royal Red 390
    2) Dark Blue 263 (non-metallic)

    Upholstery:
    1) Marine Blue
    2) Biarritz Blue
    3) Sienna Red
    4) Light Yellow

    Thanks!

They are @MStyle double slant grilles (similar to new M grilles). However, I'm thinking of installing some facelift OEM grille but not sure yet.

DerekJr. got a reaction from Loadmaster in What differentiates a bus from a coach, or a coach from a bus?
I grew up in South Africa and they don't differentiate between bus and coach. They just call it a bus whether it's a commuter bus or long-distance coach. The well-known top tier coaches (Greyhound, Intercape, and Translux) down there tend to be mostly double-deckers towing a luggage trailer (although single deckers do exist), have reclining seats with seat belts, curtains, A/C vents above the seats, hot drinks served by the on-board cabin crew, multiple TVs for watching a movie, and onboard toilet facilities. Coach probably comes from the word 'stagecoach' used for transporting paying passengers and their goods between cities during the horse-drawn era. These journeys would be long enough to have a need to change horses during the journey.

Replaced the snapped cable for the exterior door handle. I now have a driver's door that can be opened from the outside.

I'd be interested in the story behind this. Looks like is a park and display parking space but no parking fines, especially as it looks like that car has been sat there for at least a year.  Perhaps the owner passed away or had to leave the country in a hurry. The front tow hook cover seems to be missing too. So perhaps it broke down and was towed to that place. It still has the air fresheners dangling and the ashtray is opened. Judging by the position of the wipers, it was a rainy day when it was parked up.

I've seen the video. Both drivers contributed to the accident. One was speeding by quite a bit for that road, and the other pulled out without proper observation. The crowds standing near the road obstructing the view didn't help either.

I don't understand why the driver who pulled out continued driving into the crowd as he was moving at walking pace. An accident that could have been avoided if neither drivers were trying to show off.

They look a nice alloy, just for me, their lip is too deep/too flat, but I know some folk like that ...

Would have thought 15/20mm hubcentric adapters would be better suited, but an offset of 10 is doable I think, maybe some rubbing unless you use narrower tyres?

Are they for an E39 centre bore.

Not today, but approximately 3 days ago, I replaced my dipstick tube. The little channel within the dipstick tube that returns the oil to the sump from the CCV valve was blocked on mine. Apparently, it can be a common problem, therefore, the CCV system was sending oil into the intake instead of the sump which caused higher than normal oil consumption and a puff of blue smoke when you initially accelerate. Since replacing it with an unblocked one, I haven't seen any blue smoke and the engine seems to run a tad better, not that it was bad.

Last night I ordered some wheel adaptors from USA.
