  1. So let me get this straight, the car cranks but doesn't start? or doesn't crank? if it doesnt crank it could be the starter relay (internal to the EWS) Pull the fag packet pocket down, pull the EWS out, pin out the two thick wires and put a 20A fuse between them... hey presto. OR, could be the blow off terminal
  2. As above, I have a customer who popped in for diagnostic last week, the restraints module highlighted code '93F9 - Control module internal failure' and would not clear. This IS an internal ECU fault, but my question is this.... A new module from the Stealer is £950+vat but has anyone successfully fitted and/or coded a used module? Any help is much appreciated Thank you.

  5. Since my latest addition to the engine bay (FMIC and remote fuel cooler) the lack of an electric fan has caused me to constantly keep watch on my coolant temp via Intravee. When I first bought my intravee it was giving me an over temp warning every time I came off of a motorway slip road (temp set too high) I switched the feature off and didn't think of it until now, but it's not allowing me to switch it back on. I go into the menu and adjust the coolant temp to say 97 but the asterisk is still not there and today when the temp went to 98 there was no warning. @tomgc I recognise your logic.... Looks like I shall have to find another way of cooling YNP Content provided by this user should not be considered correct due to the fact he's a raving fruitloop.

Honestly, its not that hard, you do have to ditch the pusher fan and the dedicated brake cooling air ducts (but hell its a diesel not a racecar). I've been running around for a month with the pusher unplugged monitoring coolant temp, the highest it has reached was 104 with the AC on full @ 25 degrees outside air temp and sitting in traffic, AC will still work (to a fashion) because of the viscous fan, MIGHT put a smaller pulley on the waterpump to aid with cooling (fan spins faster and coolant is moved faster) or another option is to fit either an E46 puller fan and ditch the viscous or remove all BMW fans and fit a standalone puller fan with independent wiring and control. The only reason i fitted an FMIC is because the old one was leaking and I'm a big fan of replacing with something better.

    RIP Donut

I logged in today to write this message, Donut was not a man I'd regard as a friend, however I knew him, the founder of this forum, the forum that introduced me to forums actually! Too many people have died young over the past few years. I don't have a bad word to say about Darren. Rest in peace, another man that once met, never forgotten. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
  12. why would you want to keep your spare key IN the car?
