  1. Hi, I used to be a trader on here when i broke E39s for a living and had a heavily modified E39 540 drift car The arse fell out the e39 parts market and i moved on to other things. Im now the owner of DriftlandUK www.driftlanduk.com I sold the 540, then bought it back and painted it yellow, hated it and sold it again. Thanksfully the current owner painted it grey again. I tried loads of other chassis as drift cars and none of them felt right to me, none of the nissans or toyotas could take my heavy right foot and love of clutch kicks. So i ended up back in a 5 series but this one is a bit of a mongrel . I cant take credit for building it , it was build by Jankes who is on here i think. Its an E34 running E39 M5 5.0 v8, it runs a full nissan S14 front end set up and is incredibly light coming in at 1150kg with fluids. I run 17x10 5x114.3 et10 7twenty style 49s up front and i have 8x 18x10.5 5x120 et 15 rears with 265/35 tyres check out 7twentys wheels for some great spec 5 series wheels some pics Recently got to do some night demos at Angelsey in Wales , terrifying. 120mph 4 gear sideways in the dark is a scary experience. Big plans styling wise over the winter, im not a fan of the look at all just now I have a sport rear bumper and skirts to go on. front bumper with ZENDER splitter, more arch work so it can go much much lower then a full respray in Driftland team colours which is Laguna Seca Blue. So yeah HI. Whos got any cool stuff for e34s or E39 m5 engines for sale?
  2. Hahah i know its fat spec cos its my old drivers seat, made for the larger gentleman.
  3. Thanks guys. James we are making some changes to the track start ing on monday which should make it a bit better for super cars Scott you need to come up and get a passenger ride in this thing. I even have a fat man spec passenger bucket seat you might fit in.
  4. Hey chaps, we have a 540 in work just now with over heating issues. its a M62 non vanos in manual flavour. we have put 2 new BMW thermostats in it now as well as a new BMW water pump i have flushed the rad out the heaters get nice and hot but the bottom water hose is stone cold and during the bleeding process it boils up. I have lots and lots of experiance of bleeding these engines from my own 540 drift car. we are gonna do a sniffer test on it in the morning but i cant think of any other reason for this happening. I cant see BMW sending us 2 brand new failed thermostats. any other ideas chaps? the car meant to be doing a track day on Sat. HELP Jeek

    Show me your lowered e39....

Jerry i can supply BCs for a better price. I can do them for 700 delivered.
  6. Hey chaps, Been a while since iw as on here as iv been really busy at work. I still have the e39 540 driftcar But bought this to use as a fun drift car. However its just too nice for me to kill. I was going to strip the good bits off it and the drift it on a stock car oval but cars dont generally come out of there in one piece so now i dont know what to do with it. Its very high spec originally built in april 89 it has traction control, cruise control, auto dim rear mirror, electric seats. Its done some high miles at 216k but is one of the best i have driven, its up there with my old calypso alpina like some pics So now what do i do with it? It drives much nicer than my 04 skoda superb and has recipets for a paint bill at bmw in 01 for 3.5k. Anyway thought you guys would enjoy seeing such a well spec'd well looked after example. Jeek

  8. Its going really well. Were are in the process of building Europes FIRST purpose built drift track. Im going to have to pass it on to someone else to save as i just dont have the time.
  9. Well flying banana came up today and never even took me up on the offer of a drive.
  10. well where do i start? i got this car from Brad on here after realising i could have a manual V8 E39 for about the same cash as building a cool E34 540 so i bought it looking like this minus the wheels I then started stripping the nice bits of it as i needed to make the car cheap enough to crash so bumpers were sold (i have more to go on that i bought damaged and repeaied but they need painted. the shadowline came off and was replaced with chrome stuff i painted black. same end effect just much much cheaper Then i started the drift mods first off was coilovers and machined hubs also added new top mounts all round. The hubs mean i now have the standard BMW center bore so i can fit all the cool wheels i have. Front ride height there is still 20mm to go down if i need too Nice and low on Rondels just how i like it Then i fitted my special Fat spec bucket seat and harness Next up was the Hydraulic Handbrake i wanted to keep as much of the standard set up as possible as im a fan of the luxuary drifter look. It also makes the drives to and from events much nicer. The pipes go into the cubby hole with the slider on it and disapear from sight. I added a super spec fan so i can dumpe the viscous this thing is sooo good i can basically switch it on anytime and it hold the temp there Having Tommo spec center bore means i can run cool wheels like Borbet A's in 17x10 flavour. Is this the 1st E39 on Borbet A's???? And the Ultimate drift mod is a WELDED DIFF So all the mods done i was ready for the Drift Day at Crail. I woke up on sat and we had 2 inch of snow. i was worried it was gonna be cancelled. but after getting the car out the street the roads were ok so we went up anyway. and shockingly it was sunnyish all day just cold. AMAZING Took me an hour or so to get used to the car it has 100bhp more than my last drifter so i was working out what gear i needed to be in and how balanced it was on lock. After that i was getting the hang of it and getting more confiedent. I managed to link up a whole lap of the track and was feeling ace! Then i went in for a massive entry about 20m before the corner just passing the timing gear crail use for the 1/4 mile. what i didnt realise was that tyre was filled with concerete and very very stuck to the ground!!!!! WHOOPS I wanted to get super close to the tyre as fast as possible here are the results....... Oh noes glad i removed minio's sport bumper incase this happened It was a very loud bang and i thought SHIT the quarter panel is gone. i could hear metal scraping on the floor so asumed the exhaust was off but it was the bumper bar that had been ripped from the mountings and bent in half. Heres the bumper shocks and bumper bar Passenger side ripped out driver side bent Bumper bar wrecked I managed not to hit any of the panels but the force of the impact has moved the shell over about 3-4mm as you can see from the gap on the boot lid now. nothing i cant bend back and all the important bits are still straight. Also the bumper bar ripped through into the boot a little So after a quick visit to the pits to remove the busted bits And back out for more of this This is the best pic i have at the moment of actual skids. I had one other off yesterday wich resulted in a visit to the field i was very very stuck. Unfortunatly the marshals decided to tow me out on the ARB which promptly snapped off the axle All in all very very happy with the day i had super fun the weather held off and my crashes never did to much damage. well nothing i cant repair. the car was nice an smokey and very controllable on lock. Happy Jeek More pics and vids as they are posted up

  16. a little incar footage from the taxi rides at the scottish car show at ingleston last weekend. after seeing that i need an engine mount and i need to work out why both my rear calipers are sticking on sometimes. Fun day though doing a mixture of drift and rally.
  17. I know its short notice but i just thought of it. We are having a Drift/show event in Lochgelly fife called Jumanji nights. http://www.facebook.com/JumanjiNights We have around 25 drift cars booked on from 635csi to e39s to 700bhp supras and hopefully a cameo from a 10l V10 viper engined nissan s15. Its only a £5er to get in. I will have my 540 on display as well as another 100 or so expected club cars. Anyone interested its on from 12 till 8 for those not on face book JUMANJI NIGHTS Updated INFO OK so me and kyle went to see the chaps at Lochgelly motorsports complex. and it went very well i reckon. Ill start with the cash as thats important for everyone, they have come up with some prices which i think are reasonable. They have stated that if we can make this a viable event then they will widen the track at the side of the straights so it becomes more drift friendly..... but thats a way off lets see how it works first event and then take it from there. So the prices Drivers £30 in advance (£40 on the day) advance payment closes on the 21st Extra drivers £10 passengers/spectators £5 Times 12pm-8pm Car/Saftey requirements A welded diff/LSD 3 point seatbelt {ie a standard seatbelt} a helmet for both passengers and drivers As i said above if we can make this work then they will embrace us and develop the site. bear in mind they have acres of space and all the paperwork and noise paperwork already in place so the skys the limit. THE DATE we have agreed with the track on a date of the SAT 28th of July i think this is far enough away for folks to get organised and choose thier weapon. Chizfab will be doing a special deal on welded diffs for the event. Every driver ticket bought get 20% of a welded diff (£40 instead of £50* diff removed from the car*) Our yard is around 5 mins from the track itself and we can offer storage deals as well as transport from our yard and back again via GTRNUTTER (k) For the 1st event there will not be a tyre van in attendance however its something we can look at if it works out. The surface is super smooth fancy tarmac so no horrible crail concrete here. Rules The normal drift day rules will apply. Anyone being a dick will be going home. Anyone deliberatly smashing another car will be going home Anyone doing static burnouts is also going home. So we have a price A location and a date all we need now is drivers and cars. We have now got 10 pre payments so the vent will go ahead. If you have a car club and are interested in having a stand then please get in touch.

    X5 4.6

my 540 is a non vanos the later ones also have fly by wire so its a bit tricker to swap. i have a mate who has a 4.4 super charged vems ecu'd nissan silvia ps13 and he said its weird as the charger strangles the engine lower down then it comes on boost.
  22. the wheels are 18x10 et-20 3 peice forged Ozs futuras with stainless steel dishes. they have 225/40/18s stretched on and the arches rolled as far as they will go before it distorts the rear 1/4s. and they still only just fit.
