    Hi mate - sorry for the late reply. I had no warnings from changing the CCM (couple of years back) but recently I am getting the lights/oil level low warnings when starting the car. However this I believe to be due to the LCM. Not had the time yet to get it sorted Stay safe, Maj

    Yes I agree it does feel overblown ! However there must be real data to back this up as it is highlighted so often. I can only presume I removed my original pump - but it looked it great condition (although impossible to see internal fatigue and potential failure)

    It's long overdue (10 years !!) so decided to give my cooling system a revamp. The viscous fan needed changing so thought I would go the extra step. It did not take long to strip down and remove the viscous fan, belts, water pump (to replace all). Also took out the radiator and gave it a good clean. Trickiest job was removing the coolant drain bolt from the engine. Not bothered previously when changing the coolant but definitely worth the effort as a significant amount of coolant was released. Removing the water pump also revealed the plastic impeller [emoji15] Parts are on their way so should be up and running by the weekend [emoji106]

    I believe the silver colour on the lower body was Nogaro Silver (as on M5)

  12. Thanks for all the advice chaps - but it's finally done [emoji2] I ended up removing the whole assembly, holding it in a vice then absolutely 'twatting' it with a hammer and pickle fork ! Some pics below.
  13. thanks for the reply. I think whatever solution I use, I could do with a heavier hammer. I think mine is 2lb ?
  14. thanks for the reply. I had to angle grind a cm off the edge of my pickle fork as it was striking the brake disc plate (shield) before reaching the end of the ball joint ! Yes getting sufficient force now is my problem due to lack of space (leverage).
  15. Ah....you mean take off the whole assembly (with lower arm attached) ? Yes that may work because half the problem is getting enough force from the hammer (due to lack of space). Cheers mate [emoji106][emoji106]
