    Hola Carl , On the saloon it's stored under the RHS Panel with that panel having a picture of a tow bar on it rather than a cubby hole storage box . The tow bar comes in a metal bracket which is fixed to the inner rear quarter like the jack . HTH . D

    Oil change is 5.75 Litres with a new oil filter , 5 litres without . I was more than happy to supply your replacement cam at mates rates to the boys fixing your M5 as they are very well known to me and proper BMW Motorsports specialists . You are going to love this car once it's back safely in your hands and it is a very well sorted example in many respects . D

    Advice please viewing a E34 M5

    I last saw this car in July 2011 and it had covered 117,500 m . The owner was your usual BMWCC type of guy , knowledgeable of numbers etc but didn't notice a warped radiator that I had to point out in the chromed engine bay . It's clearly a well maintained example , nevertheless , although it's approaching the time when a bit of proactive engine work may be beneficial i.e. Big end shells , con rod bolts , oil pump check and head refresh . Si, I've had a Getrag 420S 6 speed E34 M5 gearbox refurbed due to crunching synchros . One thing's for certain , there aren't too many decent UK RHD examples for sale at the moment and the price only appears to be going one way. D

    Hi Luke , Where abouts are you based ? I would recommend maintaining the factory sls now as these cars are becoming increasingly rare and originality is a factor . I have a number of good used rear sls shocks and could assist with a refurbishment of your existing dampers complete with a two year warranty. p.m. If you prefer for details . D

    I feel your pain , David , as I have recently had to pull my stripped out 3.6 M5 track car , Sebring Sienna , to bits due to the dreaded rot and our in-house bodyshop really do not fancy the job of putting her right for the money it would make them . That said , there are many bodyshops / smaller operations that will put that little lot right , so stay postive and take your time . Glad to see you are still keeping the faith . D

    The black plastic cover goes over the long rod connecting pin / clip assembly that is connected to the pedals , going from the driver's footwell to the passenger side. The coolant level warning is likely an issue with the sensor in the expansion tank or the pins on the sensor that the plug pushes on to . If not the relay is under the black plastic cover containing the ccm and lkm under the bonnet . Good to see this M5 is eventually taking shape , Adi .
