The F01 was very good, really enjoyed it. Comfy and balance of speed and economy. The 740D my freind had and it was similiar to the 730D but slightly quicker. I would go 730d over 740d to be fair

What was the F01 like @sanjx
I would love a 760li F01. There’s a lovely white on black one for sale atm. But in reality I’ll probably get a 740d

This arrived all the way from Germany

Ah would love to go! Wonder if my old M5 will be there, Y252***. If I'm able to walk again or even travel before the 4th then I'll be there. Maybe we could have a list of those attending, BMW5 coffee corner maybe

Sold my old 7 recently for over a decent sum. Bank transfer done on mobile app. I made it clear, till it arrives in my bank, the car isn't leaving which can take 2 hours. ID of sender so I could check the account name matched when money arrived and transfer done in front of me whilst at my house so I knew it wasn't being done on some dodgy device. Done this a few times now and it's worked well. Just keep your wits about you and don't let the keys out of sight nor the paperwork until you've cleared funds.

if you know your connected drive username/password, could get someone else to login and unlock the car remotly instead of travelling to you.

I'm not self employed so went the complete opposite to EV and have just bought myself a G11 750i. We're all going to end up electric at some point in the future so may aswell enjoy the fossil fuels whilst we can (and no EV is going to sound as good as an ICE!)

Have you considered a 7 series? Brilliant value, higher base spec and comfortable. I went from my E39's to an F10 and then an F01. The F01 really was a cut above whilst keeping the familiarity of the F10 controls and layout

Look slovely that. Its amazing now how modern cars become so quickly uneconomical to repair. I think the future will be worse with batteries etc.. meaning £5-8k replacement cost making them uneconomical to repair at a much younger age.

cabin filters would be first port of call. PLus try running it in anger for a while (say 30mins plus) as it may clear itself. Try 15mins on max then 15mins on low to allow the system really to be pushed to it's extremes and see what it highlights?

You've fixed it now but if you paid by credit card, would that have offered any protection to cover seeking a refund under the distance selling regulations?

Started separating screws from nails and other general rubbish in the garage and putting them in separate tubs for when I need them (everyone has that box of stuff they don't want to throw out as you'll defo need it in the future!). Ended up quite well hydrated and resorted to having a Camembert and garlic bread instead of continuing as it's raining, cold and the WC means walking back to the house every 10mins

I've actually started to quite like it. The grill is huge but picture that in silver with a blacked out grill and it could be manacing. Also less bumper to get stone chipped

Its absolutely mental whats going on. Did our weekly shop last night and couldn't get half the things we wanted. Settled on what ever we could get without "bulk buying". Lets see what the next week holds but I suspect I'll be one of those who is queing to buy rations as I didn't bulk buy but I'm happy with that knowing that by not bulk buying, I may have helped someone who needed it more than me.

The F01 and F20 have never had batteries changed. Just ordered 10 energiser off Amazon for £6 so will be changing spares and main keys. For such little money and sake of few mins, why not

Thanks for the guide and prompt to do this!

I'll be continuing to burn as much diesel and petrol as I can for aslong as I can. We may introduce EV in the UK and maybe Europe but the rest of the world, there's countries out there who burn tyres to boil a kettle so that's where the focus of the global committees should be.

The inventor in this case, I think brilliant, his really applied himself and discovered something excellent and useable. I specially like the fact you can buy the power pack and just swap it out instead of being parked for hours trying to charge up. However, I suspect he will disappear having been paid off by the large manufactures so that there marketed solutions continue to be "the latest" but then I would be a conspiracist (if that's even a word but you know what I mean)

My next pint of Wainwrights is getting warm, brewed in Lancashire (I think), transported by diesel to Worcestershire, enjoyed near a gas fired boiler powered radiator supported by a log fire and paid for with cash whilst sat beneath a halogen spotlight bulb.

Personally I wouldn't be fixing that either. With the winter coming, just protect it with abit of laquer or maybe some ceramic coating and do the refurb/repair in spring next year.

Have a look online for Zimmerman brake discs

My suggestion would be to speak with Cotswold (forum sponsor) parts dept for a price for the parts. Then ring Cotswold Service for a price for replacement of discs and pads and breakdown of the cost. The parts will be at a higher price so give them a reference for the quote you've just had from parts for the parts and you'll be pleased with the difference

I had my pads/discs done a few months ago and the premium for BMW parts and labour (over using non-oem parts and a local garage) was under £100 (from memory £60 but I havent records to hand). Considering the 2 year warranty, not a bad place to be
