Have done 10000 miles with them on the rear and they are now showing 4.5 mm on both, they provide plenty grip for the way I drive and have kept me out of any ditches. No issues in the wet, the only criticism I would say is they were pretty rubbish during the heavy snow we had early March 2018 but then again there were plenty other cars with premium tyres that didn’t move either. They are noticeably quieter than the Conti run flats they replaced and much smoother over our pot filled roads. Would definitely recommend them although I accept they not BMW approved, however they are definitely a worthy alternative.

Coincidentally my dad had a Daimler V8 250 (in rare factory manual) that I borrowed and ran for about a year.. was a fantastic car to drive around in some days. I even drove it down to the Goodwood Revival a few years back (and had to get low loadered home.....) but the handling was utterly terrifying and the steering back breakingly heavy! Glorious looking thing though

What did you do to your E39 today ?

MOT day. Just fitted new track control arms, front pads and handbrake linings. Failed. But, it was a tyre. Apparently the tracking was out and took the corner off. New pair and front and rear tracked up. Should get the pass certificate on Monday. Reading the V5, it transpires I’ve had the car for nine years. Best driving, most reliable and cheapest to run car I’ve ever had. Love it.

    Drivechain - Drive Moderately

Got it booked in, but not for a while as they need it all day and I need a car. If it does happen again though, or remains on, or I notice anything, I've been told to ring them for a emergency appointment. I guess I'll see how it goes, they've got it on record now that I've had a problem from the recall and its booked in for inspection.

Sure sign of a front ABS wheel sensor on its way out. Autobox uses inputs from these to detect the cars speed for gear shifts.

What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?

Yes, and excellent! I’ve had them on since around October last year & haven’t had any negative experiences or feeling. Since I was switching from runflats the comfort levels went up a lot but I honestly can’t say for normal road use that I’ve noticed any difference in steering feel or sharpness. We didn’t get much snow in Yorkshire this year so couldn’t really test that side of them but when it did snow I popped out on a very short drive and as a test came to a complete stop on a fairly steep side road near my house and set off with only a little bit of slippage and traction control. They give loads of confidence in the wet, which is really what tyres in the UK should be designed around IMO.

Check connections under the seats; unplug and plug back in a few times, carefully, to clean the connectors. Hopefully that'll re-seat them properly

    Automatic shifting

If it does this when cold it's the lower gears being held for longer to warm up the engine faster. Shouldn't do that when warm though.

Tread carefully with autodoc. Ordered parts from them recently and as long as they actually have parts in stock, all is well. When they don't, regardless of what will be shown on your screen, be prepared to wait..... Efficiency and customer service in my experience is not their strong point. They've gotten a hell of a lot of bad reviews on line. It can be a bit of a lottery with them...

    Automatic shifting

Hi. You have zf6hp26 in your car, same like mine and if you drive gently gears should be shifting at around 1500 revs, but that very gentle and normal driving 1700 or 2000 looks like its holding gear for some reason. My gearbox is not great too.. You need to check adaptation values on the clutch packs etc. I would take it to automatic transmission specialists who know how to diagnose zf gearboxes.

HID bulb working when it wants.

I must say your example sounds quite unique. I’d consider having the battery, the alternator health, the electrics and the wiring looked over by an auto-electrician. Also perhaps the recent coding might need revisiting too. No doubt someone who knows about coding can comment on this. . ...would be such a shame if you end up with the halogens which aren’t much better than candles. .

I'd agree. Take it back to the installers who did the job and ask for them to get it sorted.

Hi guys As of today, all of the Fxx series cars can be tuned through the diagnostic port! This now covers diesel and petrol, and includes the twin ECU models (M5 for example). This means our price for both have come down massively subject to original files being available on our database. Prices and power increases for stage 1 tuning are below. We can also offer stage 2 and 3 tuning with the associated modifications. Prices are on request for stage 2 and 3 due to the sheer quantity of parts that vary between models. We can also offer additional options such as crackle on the over-run, launch control (on supported models) and hard cut limiter on diesels. These are charged as individual options - should you require an option on your quote, just let me know. The OBD writing on these is subject to an original file being available on our database. If no file is available, we can still work on your car, but in some instances the ECU will have to be removed and a hole may have to be drilled for access inside the casing. We use a specialist drilling jig for this, so your ECU is in safe hands. However the price will change with this. ECUs that require drilling cost £372 inc. VAT (excluding the twin ECU models such as M5/M6) due to the much greater risk involved with working on them. We will always give you the option of backing out at this point before we begin drilling the ECU. Unfortunately there is no way of telling if there's a standard file available until we plug the car in. Our tuning software is also invisible to a BMW dealer. The car will pass the CVN check, and the flash counter will not increase. I must reiterate here that the software is invisible. If we have had to drill the access hole in your ECU(s) there is a chance that a dealer will remove the ECU to inspect it if they suspect the vehicle has been tuned. Whilst we can and do insert a blanking plug into the hole, it is still obvious the ECU has been drilled. This will void your warranty. If your car can be programmed through the diagnostic port, there is nothing to worry about. Performance dial scales are adjusted free of charge to reflect your increase in power. Feel free to ask all of your questions in this thread. The prices below include the forum discount for stage 1 tuning. RRP without the discount for this forum is also included. If your file is not on the original file database (as I said previously there is no way of checking if your software version is available for OBD write without having the car here) the prices have been added in below.
