What did I do to my F11 today? I bought it and drove it 100 miles back home and then another 50 or so miles along one of my favourite roads just because I could. Only issue so far is a little condensation which has appeared inside one of the headlights. What a lovely car to drive and a huge change from the previous one. Will post up some photos tomorrow.

    Swap out the F10....?

So I drove the 535i. Condition wise the front tyres looked odd to me, sort of strenched look. Tiny dent and chip on rear passenger door. Corrosion on door edges of driver and rear driver side doors. Otherwise very good condition in and out but clearly been sat a while as the brakes were very rusty. Interior I'm not taken on, not keen on beige against silver alu trim but each to their own, was light and airy. Sunroof was nice, would love one. No HUD but does have HK. N55 is a nice engine for sure is quicker than the n53 but there wasn't as much in it as I was expecting, not all that much at all really just lazier and less revs. Sport Gearbox was nice and seemed more responsive. I think the lci car and especially box drive much better overall than my pre lci (my rear tyres are past their best, in fairness). Steering seemed heavier and the suspension more planted somehow, tighter perhaps as lower miles. So not enough in it for me to change (m5 is better value at 5-6k more) but the LCI is much nicer than pre LCI. Hope this helps.

    Tyres and Non Runflat

Bit late to the party, but as an ex motorcycle courier, most couriers i knew carried slime, but in the event of a blow-out, first thing we had to do was find the hole ( not easy in the dark on poorly lit road - torch was essential tool ) and roll the bike till the hole is on the road under the weight of the machine. IF not, the first thing that happens is a bucket load of slime pumps out of the hole. I wonder if this is what happened in the post above ?

    Swap out the F10....?

No problem. Happy to help out a forum buddy but also if it had really spun my gears id have come away with it Did you drive the 530i? I asked the 535i dealer about two year warranty but apparently there is no margin in the cars at all. Pile em high sell em low... (lol) Btw that 535i I checked the footwells and they seemed dry, AC seemed to work. Wasn't sure if I detected slight smoker smell tho.

    E61 boot light.

Boot lights should have continuous voltage supply from body module and switched ground from the boot lock mechanism. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e61-520d-tou/wiring-functional-info/body/lighting/interior-lighting/interior-lighting/umQjoga

    Kit's E34 535i

Did a bit of a marmite mod - put yellow tints on the main beam and fog lights. If I end up not liking it should be easy to remove. Also fitted all new bulbs in the front too, nice Orsam Night Breakers. Polishing the glass didn’t really do much tbh apart from make the glass smooth. Oh well, will probably one day get a new set so it looks fresh.

Yup, same as mine, luckily I'm a gynaecologist. *may not be true but I'll have a good look.

Am I the only one? Gearbox behavior F11

After maybe a couple of years of my gearbox misbehaving (albeit only slightly), and the dealer not knowing what I was complaining about, I decided to just pay for a new EGR valve. Dealer thought I was nuts, but agreed to do the job as "preventative maintenance". Completely fixed the problem.

Received a cheque today from the lawyer acting on my behalf from my rear end collision last July. This covers the recovery fee, the replacement child seat and the hire car additional insurance costs. That will go towards a pair of new rear tyres.

One round our way did after a few months of L-plate moped madness. He imprinted himself into the front of a transit van-not been an issue since.

    Kit's E34 535i

Always tense having an MoT Test I find, and in the 12 years I’ve been driving I’ve never had a car pass first time....until today!! The E34 sailed through. Winner. Just got the front bumper off to remove the lights so I can polish them up. Pictures to follow

    e32 750iL Calypso Red

Thanks @d_a_n1979! The e32 is finally home, washed and tucked into a shed until I’m ready to do some work on it. I have to sell the 740 and 540 to give myself some breathing space first!

    The BMW5 random picture thread

Thank you! Yes, it's a very good drone that folds up so is easy to take on holiday etc. It can be hard in busy places like St. Ives to take off/land and fly legally (staying 30m/50m from people and property and not flying over the town). I took all my photos and video either at about 6.30am or late evening and, even then, being out over the sea was the only way to keep it legal. There was a similar (identical?) drone flying low over the town centre on a number of occasions, breaking the law in many ways. This is, of course, why drones end up with a bad name and I feel like a criminal even though I fly it legally. Here, let me break my own thread rules with a video, rather than a photo. A short video of The Island area before most people are out of bed!

    BM Auto Parts (West Bromwich)

BM Parts Centre are primarily a breaker, run by a couple of E30 fanatics by the names of Abid and Waheed. decent chaps and have a lot of experience. I can't comment on their workmanship as i've never used them, but have bought parts for my E30 and one or two things for my E39.
