    BMW 530d Oil leaking

Hi all, Hope someone can shed some light onto the issue I am facing. Car is losing oil slowly, so took it to a mechanic to have it checked. They are suggesting a valve cover gasket may be leaking causing the leak, along with Injector seals needing doing. In the process of getting a price to having this done, but I have noticed the pipes covered in oil, which are not close to the valve cover. Just wondering if this is a common fault, and if oil should be even leaking from the hoses coming from the turbo. Iv ordered a new CCV (Vortex type) and will be changing this incase this is the issue.

    Winter wheels/tyres

My car is M Sport (not the brakes) and has 18” staggered wheels as standard.

    Tyre Load Rating

Answering the question, it will be fine. It will be handle to handle more weight, as told. Shouldn't be noticed. Suggestion of a non-run flat and performance tyre when he specifies a run-flat tyre, touring type... Doesn't seems a good help.
  7. I’ve had similar issues, not losing bluetooth but media issues, phone music, Spotify etc. The only thing that fixes it for me is to restart the phone.

Software reset on hidden dash functions

Exactly, not a clue. Hence me asking what else has changed that you need to set to pre-reset conditions. What else reset? Trip odo reading? It looks like it only resets the date, time and trip odo.

Dave is looking to buy the Primacy 3 ZP run flats not the Pilot Sport 3 non-runflats on this occasion.

  11. Hello, I'm driving a BMW 530e that was delivered in November 2018. Since quite a while my Bluetooth connection is cutting the connection automatically after a short while for no obvious reason. Re-connecting works but it takes ages to see Music content from the phone. More often now, it never stops showing "Please wait...". This is ridiculous since that was never a problem with other car brands. It looks like it's getting worse. Anybody who experienced similar problems and knows what can be done? Thanks, Markus

    Looking for a friend......

It did do that but then it was trying to run and ran (like a bag of shite) for around 3/4seconds then it wouldn’t go over 1800 revs and the engine management light came on and the engine cut out and then would try to start but maybe fire for a second or two then die.

    SOS call system failure.

I haven't got a clue how to. But surely if I just manage to out a loop in it'll get the Bluetooth and phone modules working and warning will go?

Cheers Dunc Came across Rye military cemetery today while on our was to gold beach, it was one of the first cemeteries to be created. It was a sobering experience, very very sad to see all those young graves.

Things I hate about my 5 series

Wasn’t the exact words, was just my interpretation. That came after a rejection letter, BMW FS called me following a consultation with BMW UK and asked me if there is any particular reason that my car has had two differential and now a request for a second replacement gearbox. Took about 10 days to reject once BMW UK stepped in. SC Tring insisted on throwing part after part at the car. Warranty repair is 100% guaranteed money from BMW UK. Rejection meant they were at a loss.

If it'll only start on easy start and dies as soon as that stops I'd be testing the cam and crank shaft sensors and checking the fuel pressure with inpa

Software reset on hidden dash functions

Time you reset in the iDrive. What other values has it reset? It should only have affected values in the KOMBI rather than anything else more sinister. Don't touch the wet paint!

Anyone have any expirience with the BMW N47 engine? (Timing)

The old M47N will go in with the gearbox, prop and ECU. Hardly worth the bother.
  25. Hi Terry fu#kwit here, been messing about with the hidden dash functions on 520d f10 and pressed the software reset , no 25 I think , and it’s reset all the values and time etc , how do I get it back to how it was please ? I still touch wet paint signs to check if it’s wet !!!!

    Looking for a friend......

Well a quick update on this, I changed the fuel filter and hey presto, it’s still fuckered! So it looks like it’s off to a diesel specialist at some point this week! Know I now most of you will ask; why not just throw it away and get something else? and believe me I want to it’s just I’ve stuck some monies down on one of them things made out of bricks and mortar so now isn’t the best time to be buying a new car, I’ve even thought of using the money it’s going to cost to repair the million mile turd machine and buy a shitter to use for the next 6 months or so, BUT are you just buying someone else’s problems? And it costing more in the short term? At least with the beemer it’s better the devil you know.... oh I’d like to thank everyone that helped over the weekend, I drank your beer tokens, so don’t come asking for any..... its lucky no fucker turned up......
