Put a wing mirror cover that i had sprayed up on to replace the one that had been pinched!

well dropped my car off Monday morn at 7.00am at the "The Wheel specialist" Birmingham got a call at 3.30pm to say wheels had been fully chem stripped , shot blasted and powder coated "drive in drive out service"

£250 offer at present norm £350

they did say mine were really badly corrored and had casting marks and had been refurb twice before upon stripping overall happy with difference they were very badly corrored before and pitted and the paint was just flaking off !

gave them a good coat of high temp paint sealant/gloss wax and waxed car again with collinte 915 (great for dark colours) rain X the windows (love this stuff works great)

After driving the Pug 306 hdi  for a few days getting in the 530d and pissing off a e46 320 driver made me smile.

Oh and the look of the car after 35 miles of driving in this pants weather. :x

fitted my new Monroe shocks yesterday, replaced both headlamps with ones that don't have broken adjusters and did an interim oil and filter change as I do this every 8-10k regardless.

A]   Insured it.   Just £50 more expensive that the Passat 1.8 Turbo I've been driving for about five years.

Stayed with the AA because I felt £50 was peanuts and if you use comparison websites

you get bombarded with marketing emails ....

B] Fitted NS front lower wheel arch liner. It was 99% missing on mine ( just a couple of fragments lurking behind two rusty fixing bolts).

Was given an undamaged s/h one when I bought a repair panel for C pillar - but it was from a different model E39 so didn't have the oblong hole for the 540i brake duct.

However ....... after cleaning it, discovered a matt outline marked by Mr BMW in the correct place on the otherwise shiny plastic.

Used a thin tapered reamer in an electric drill to 'machine' just inside outline in plastic.

Filed then sanded edges. Perfect alignment when fitted.

I've removed the knackered arch liner/under tray corner piece that I managed to smash to bits on Oldham's many speed humps..... Pissed about with the obc for the mpg's, driven it a bit, thought about washing it, driven it a bit more......

Cleaned the eathing point under the bonnet (x3) and by the battery in a hope the elecrical gremins will vanish - seeing as they are random only time will tell!

Goning to Bristol and Stratton on the Fosse later so checked tyre pressures, oil, and water which seems to have dropped a bit since changing the rad 500 miles ago :( it didn't use any before :( :(

I always find that after refilling the system, so matter how much I bleed it, it always drops a little over a short while, then stabilises. Don't panic yet B)
