Does the rear armrest have a total separate loom or can some of it be spliced into the e39 loom.

We'll sort of 2 seperate looms. One for the phone stuff and another for the rest which is the bit I needed. This is the bit I need and need to connect 5 of those loose wires I believe. Can just make out the other loom top right with masking tape on

Well you could have atleast attempted to fit the correct heating elements rather than go with a diy job!!!

BMW never made heating elements for the rear of an e39. So I'm using the next best thing out of the big brother 7 series. Wouldn't call that a bodge more an upgrade. Suppose putting contours in is a bodge to. Or illuminated interior/exterior handles

Thought I'd update this as I've been quiet over the winter months with weather and lack of motivation. So thought I'd best get going again on this years mods ;)

knocked this up for the rear heating

Also stripped down the rest of the seat back as they also need redying

Don't know how I've missed this thread so just read from the beginning, fantastic work and attention to detail.

Definitely one of most individual and tastefully upgraded cars I've come across - looking forward to more updates.

Few more bits done of this years mods ;0)

As the bixenon foglights are not made for the sport bumper I had to make them fit using projector style cases which I prefer anyway. Bixenon left and projector style right

54031697ee44d73c75fb89f1faa05289.jpg

Light unit separated from housings. Bixenon right

e82710e764593f42e06326648605c4bc.jpg

And with a bit of trickery here and there we have now mated the bixenon light units to the projector style housings

97d1c144489236ca62831ad4daf0c01e.jpg

So now have Hella xenons and Hella bixenon foglights

89a285d2477c4616c8056747638bfe54.jpg

And also got round to fitting the new button to the centre switch panel to control them

Nice work, I thought bixenon meant you had high & low beam in the same housing so is that what your fogs are?

No on this means it has 2 functions. As standard fogs and when button pressed they come on when full beam/ flashers are clicked like this video

Awesome - this goes from strength to strength!! Damn wish I had time to get back into mine!!! :(

What are the 'new relasered' buttons? You mean you can get new buttons made with some custom symbol???

How did you use presumably the old SEDC button to control a different function - does it output a K/I/P-bus signal or does it just output a pulse/grounding on separate pins like a normal button you can easily hijack and send to a relay or whatever?

I'm interested in this as well because I'd like to retrofit RDC at some stage
